the best Strongly built, rattle-free, stable, well-proportioned; a simple, convenient, stable, and highly adjustable mechanism for incline/decline; a seat that maintains a 90% angle with the bench; and open ends for a variety of great attachments. I also bought the crunch, dip and chin add-ons. The crunch foot restraint is a similar to a slantboard restraint,(the seat comes off, creating a very long slantboard), but the dip and chin are like nothing else, more solid than anything in the price range for free-standing stuff, nicely higher than a doorway bar, and better spaced handles for dips than doorway or freestanding units. To do better , you’ll spend more than three times as much, and have a room full of stuff where one bench could’ve done the job, (and you still may not have actually done better).

Killer Bench! I wasn’t looking to buy a bench when I came across this gem. When I was ordering my IM2000 self-spotting weight lifting system I decided to stretch my budget and give this a try. It’s versatily, stability, and usability were much better than what I was going to use. I glad I went for it. Since getting it, I’ve discovered the many attachments that are available for this bench as well.

This BENCH is AWSOME I just got this bench with the pullup bar and the abs attachment. After shopping for a VKR and a BENCH for a month I stumbled onto this setup and WOW what a great product. The workmanship is first class it’s packed well and it goes together in minutes! Best of all this bench can be every bench you’ll ever need, flat, incline, decline, and the chinup bar is perfect. I bought this setup to hit the P90X work out program and it should work perfectly. If your looking for a bench this the one to buy you will definitley get your money’s worth. Ironmaster Super Bench Shipping: Ships from Ironmaster direct and I received unit in four business days. Set-up: Set-up is simple with just the installation of four bolts at the support legs. A 3/8″ drive racket with a 17 mm socket and wrench will make this task a snap. Quality: I wanted a bench that was near gym quality, durability, with more functionality. So before this purchase I examined the adjustable benches at the gym for sturdiness and metal gauge thickness. I found that the Ironmaster bench met these requirements at least on paper, so I purchased the bench and I am not disappointed. The ab attachment provides the additionally functionality that I was looking for. What I like about the bench is the multiple adjustments that the bench provides with an easy to use spring loaded lever. The adjustable seat works well for me as I have a 6 foot 3 inch frame, even though my knees are a bit high. This is okay though as raised knees provides support to the weak inguinal area in men. This is a near commercial quality bench at a reasonable price and I would purchase again.

Amazing! Well after an awful experience with the Bowflex adjustable dumbells (I returned them) I decided to order the Ironmaster Superbench and adjustable dumbells and all I can say is “Wow, what a difference!” First of all I ordered the SuperBench with the following attachments: Chin Up Bar Crunch/Decline Bar Dip/Leg Raises Preacher Curl Pad And the Quick-Lock dumbells 75lb with storage rack Everything arrived around 4 days after ordering and everything was very well packaged. Set-up took me around 3 hours but putting everything together was pretty simple. The Super Bench is solid. Amazing quality. The way it swivels is genius. All the attachments are made from solid metal and feel real sturdy. A few nitpicks: First, I wish that you could insert the attachments from either side of the bench. I work out in front of a mirror and when I add an attachment that means I have to pick up the bench and turn it so I face the mirror. Second, all the attachments do take up some space when not in use. I know that the do sell a rack to store your attachments so maybe I’ll get that at a later date. In conclusion, the Ironmaster products and service is like a breath of fresh air after dealing with Bowflex.

Buy it !!!!!!! I will be short and sweet.I have had the complete system for about exactly one year(IM 2000,SUPERBENCH,and DUMBELLS,and all ATTACHMENTS).I went to gyms for about 5 years and I know what quality is.The unit is not as good as gym equipment,but it is very good for home(especially for heavy duty weight lifters).I love it!!!! No more going to the gym for me.I get pretty much the same results staying at home.You won’t be dissapointed.I was skeptical at first to,but I am glad I bought it,very solid.The Superbench is awesome,well worth the money.The dumbells are great to,very solid.Five stars for everything.

Great build with great expansion! The price may be high relatively speaking, but the build quality is up there what you find at the gym coupled with varying degrees of adjustments. I utilize the DIP BAR, CHIN UP BAR and the CRUNCH SIT UP attachment all of which fit neatly and securely into the bench. By coupling this with a set good dumbells your set. There have been some complaints about the feet/stance not being wide enough… while I would agree a wider stance/footprint would be nice, I feel the perch is more than adequate and the discipline of balance should be followed when using any form of free weights. NOTE, the quality of the attachments made for this bench are first class and offer great options in your workout.

Choose and BE SATISFIED! I’m a “newbie” and [at 45] not a “Young Turk”
…I’ll admit that – but, hey – isn’t this a “good thing” and something the fitness industry hopes for – “middle-age men” working out? In an earlier life; I WENT TO THE GYM, ‘got good results, but became “de-railed” by other responsibilities and distractions in life [fairly typical]… Now, I would just like to maintain myself in healthy shape IN my-own domain. Read-on from this “Non-Mr. Universe”… For Christmas, I requested a pair of SportBlocks [from PowerBlock] – an entry-level pair of well-regarded adjustable-weight dumbbells [24-total x 3-lbs]. If I do well, I’ll outgrow their maximum lift weight potential. If so, the SportBlock’s streamlined design will always make them preferable for many lower-weight dumbbell exercises [they’re sleek], so I wouldn’t be forced to adopt them as a future orphan. Upon an upgrade, I’d definitely purchase the heavier Ironmaster system. Currently, they DON’T offer a lower-cost lower-weight entry-level alternative, so I chose the “other” brand [hint to the good Ironmaster folks… ‘Maybe a lower-weight fewer-plate “entry” for “the regular folks” until they’re ready – then sell them additional plates at a higher profit] 
MANY of us older lifters DON’T need a power-system from the git-go… ‘Just a basic “marketing observation”! As for Ironmaster’s Super Bench… WHAT AN AWESOME PRODUCT! I can’t remember when I’ve been more impressed with a purchase [and I market Consumer Electronics gear]… It is so practical; so WELL-constructed; and so reasonably-priced [given it’s VERY-HIGH construction quality and design]! It seems to be the PERFECT bench for this novice when working-out with DUMBELLS – but, I’m not so sure how well it’s effective “close-to-the-ground” horizontal support-bar-design would allow-for the accommodation of other available BARBELL-exercise “squat racks” [like the Powerline 60X]. If I purchased the latter, I’d definitely save-the-receipt in-case it didn’t match-up. Ironmaster has developed several very-useful add-ons for the Super Bench [I purchased the Crunch and Dip-Bar package in my original order]… Maybe, they should put their engineers to work on an integrated barbell-driven accessory for the basic Military Press – allowing for overhead retirement of the bar to a stable support device while lying on the bench. All of this aside – THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT… You can BUY-IT with confidence and an expectation to be satisfied… Search no further!

Excellent Bench This bench is an absolute dream. As solid as you could possibly want. Every piece is solid and built to take a lifetime of use. Gym quality. It basically comes assembled. You have to bolt on the feet, but it comes with everything you need. No tools necessary. I had my bench up and running within ten minutes of opening the package. Easy as can be to adjust the incline. Push a pedal and pull. Adjusts from flat to just about 90 degrees. The seat has multiple positions. The attachments that can be added are great additions. I have the pullup bar, dip station, and incline sit up attachment. Some have expressed concerns about the stability of the bench when using the attachments. No need to have any. I am a big guy and felt completely comfortable doing pullups. No tipping and no wobbline at all. This bench is an outstanding deal. Well worth the money. I have worked out in more gyms than you can name. I have my own home gym. I have been around and I know great equipment when I see it.

Father of 2 Works Out at Home This review is for ppl like me who have no choice but to work out at home because A)You’re home watching the kids so it’s better than just sitting on your … B)You either don’t want to pay for a gym or don’t even want to COMMUTE to a gym given the time committment and lately gas prices. C) You need to get in shape because your kids demand that you carry them on your shoulders etc. I have one who’s 50lbs and the other about 25lbs – and they’re only getting heavier. I enjoy the father and son bond from carrying my son on my shoulders but when the second gets jealous it becomes difficult to carry 75lbs for more than 1 city block without resting, switching arms etc. The Bench is very heavy duty compared to my previous bench. Twice the padding at least so it’s comfortable. Easy to assemble without instructions. Even though I was skeptical and lowered my expectations I was surprised at how stable the pull up bar attachment was. Of course it is for pull ups but great for stretching. I found it more stable then doing say the situp at a vertical angle. In fact I had trouble getting myself “up there” to get into position for the crunches and I am 6ft. I was more afraid of this tipping over during the mount because of the uneven weight distribution. Once you’re on it with both legs secure then there is no stability issue. Also once you’re done doing your crunches but before dismounting you will get an inversion table effect in the rest position. The removable seat should lock into place if you ask me but the likelyhood of you moving your entire body horizontally to slip the seat out by accident is slim and no one would do that on purpose. I think the reasoning was being able to switch the bench positions/angles for other exerices and not make it too time consuming. Now the cons: the seat is rather high of the floor. If you have young kids like me you need to think about safety – basically I had to move this bench to an area where they have no access as my 2 yr old already tried to go through the half circle. I wish the cross bars on the base were wider so I can be more confident with the crunches and pull ups. Overall you will be happy with this bench and attachments.

Great bench! I just got this bench in the mail and it is great. I ordered the bench and the crunch attachment. It is as heavy duty and gym quality as everyone says it is. My favorite aspect of it is that I can put the crunch attachment on, recline the bench to 85 degrees and do near vertical situps and stretch my back out! I was planning on buying some type of inversion system or boots but now I have no need for them. And doing vertical situps at my gym required a lot of rigging up of bars and stuff on a squat tower.

Very Very Good This is a solid bench. HVY. And stable, it really surprised me. The queality is exellent. You need to get the abs crunch adapter to hold your legs to do decline. I have tried diferent benches, thsi is by far the best. It is worth every penny.

I bought this bench in 2005. I’m here to say you can’t go wrong with this bench; it will be the last one you buy. I’ve had no issues, except for wearing out the padding after lots of heavy use. l called Iron Master to see if I can buy only the padding and to my surprise they offered to send me a replacement for free since I have used it so much the pad wore down – now that’s a company that stands by there product! I promise you won’t regret buying this bench. Oh yeah, almost forgot, I got the accessories too and again, no issues. Very tough equipment. I got the dumbbell set also (the old style) and no issues there either. I’m telling you, be prepared to have this equipment for life.

Unique design works very well, and although it is bolted rather than welded, it is ALMOST as sturdy as the very expensive pro grade single purpose benches in the best gyms (and better than many in lots of inferior gyms). Pair this with the Ironmaster or Powerblock dumbells and you’ve got a complete weight solution in your home. I couldn’t be happier, and I can’t believe all the time and money I wasted on inferior benches. For those of you considering the competing Powerblock bench, don’t bother. I’ve used both and this is hand’s down a better design, and better function as well. I’m thinking about getting some add-ons for mine, but for now it’s just fine as is. I did a lot of research before buying this bench, and I tried it out in person (which some of you may not be able to do) and I am sure glad I found it. Much better than having 2 or 3 different benches taking up room. I think you will like it, I sure do!

Love It!! I purchased the super bench, attachments, and quick lock DBs a little over a year ago. I worked out in gyms for over 15 years, but decided to set up a home gym because of time constraints, traffic, and gym membership fees. I use the bench 5 to 6 days per week and have had no problems with it. After unpacking the bench, all I had to do was install the cushioned top and legs with a few bolts. The attachments all required only a few screws each. The bench is very strong and stable. I love being able to quickly switch from flat, to incline/decline, to upright. The materials are near commercial quality, and the bench is perfectly padded for comfort. The only time I feel any type of wobble on the bench, is while I’m climbing on to do crunches. I no longer feel a wobble once I’m on the bench and doing crunches. Given all the attachments, this bench is an excellent buy! …replacing many other products such as dip station, pull-up bars, ab machines, etc. My only complaint with the bench is the height.. because I am short (only 5’3″), my feet do not touch the floor when the bench is flat. I have to put something under my feet or place my feet on the bench, but this would not deter me from recommending the bench to another short person. My favorite attachment is the crunch situp/decline. It is perfect for crunches, leg raises and for just hanging on the bench to stretch. The dip bar can also be used for leg raises and stretching. Because I’m so small, the chin up bar is a little difficult to install and remove. In all, it only takes a few minutes, but because it is “top heavy”, I have to be careful in handling it. With my super bench, quick-lock dumbbells, and a treadmill, I have a complete workout in the privacy and convenience of my own home. I no longer have to drive to the gym, pay gym membership fees, worry about whether the gym daycare is open, wait in line for equipment, or wipe other people’s sweat off of the equipment. It is worth every penny! Even though I get a full body workout with the bench and DBs, I still feel I need the leg attachment and a leg press machine or something else for legs… if anyone has a recommendation for a snall footprint, leg press/hack squat machine… please let me know. Also let me know if you’ve used the super bench leg attachment.

Definitely my favorite bench. Having owned several £200 plus benches, this is clearly my favourite. I would purchase it again without hesitation. I’ve used it for 6 months. The plus side is the stability of the bench itself (not counting attachments). It’s solid and easy to move around if need be. This is made considerably easier by the optional wheel attachment. Changing bench angle could not be easier and once set, it is solid. No wobble. No slop. Angle can be changed in 1-3 seconds. Two things to note (has been mentioned by other reviewers). The seat is very easy to attach and detach — great design. It sits rather low though. I’m only 5′ 10″ and even I find it low (even at it’s highest setting). The low seat positions are a function of the pivot design. It’s a small issue that I don’t consider a problem per se, but potential buyers should be aware of it. ALso the bench is not very wide. That’s both a plus and perhaps a minus. The plus is that you’ll not feel any hindrance of shoulder or back movement when in the incline or flat position. The negative is that you do actually have to use some stabilizing muscle effort to stay properly aligned on the bench especially if using dumbbells as I do. I actually don’t consider the narrow bench a problem, but again buyers should be aware of it. The covering and padding seem to be high quality and are certainly adequate for my needs.

so the bench is awesome. more awesome than i thought or expected and i thought it’d be good. i’ve been working out over a decade and a half and played DI athletics and find this to be an awesome bench. i can do any exercise at whatever angle i want. i slightly decline my dumbbell press and flys, i can go upside down (literally) and do triceps like i’m doing tricep pulldowns (but in reverse since w/ dumbbells), i can do hanging abs off the pullup bar and then go exact opposite and do upside down situps (that otherwise would require gravity boots), i can put it at an incline and standup and lean against it and do two arm rows to get the back (like i was doing a cable row), and anything else you’d normally think of or just want to tweak a little to get right in your exercise. plus i can do it quick and don’t have some guy (or gal) waiting to use the bench. and even more awesome i can just do 30mns whenever i want and if i’m tired quit which allows me to be more consistent as opposed to all the effort it required to get ready, go to the gym, use my locker, and reverse all that when i was done which would probably be 30mns just to do that and i’d feel like i had to keep going even if i was tired. it’s much better to do small lifting consistently (and you’ll dread it less / actually enjoy it if you have the time) than long lifting sessions inconsistently. so the bench is awesome (it does require a wrench as another reviewer mentioned to assemble), i store it in the flat position and put it upright in my closet and it goes in just fine

Great Bench We just purchased the Super Bench by Ironmaster. It was ordered on a Tuesday and was delivered on Thursday. It took longer to unpack it than it did to “assemble” it. Assembly consists of attaching the legs with four bolts and nuts. The bench is awesome. It is easy to adjust but super solid in every position. It takes up very little room in our bedroom. It is light enough that I can pull it out when I use it an then tuck it back into the corner of the room afterward. We also ordered the situp attachment. This is pretty much required if you are going to do decline bench presses. The attachments take less than 2 seconds to install and remove. With the easiness of changing angles and the quickness of installing/removing attachments, you can reconfigure the bench for different exercises with ease and little time. I have not owned other benches so I can only comment on this one. I would not consider any other bench simply because I am completely happy with this one. The only thing that would be nicer is if the ironmaster products were available in local stores. This would enable a buyer to see and test the products before buying. I own the bench and the dumbbells and couldn’t be happier. I would not hesitate buying other ironmaster products as a result.

Not perfect, but the best dumbbell bench on the market I purchased 3 benches over the course of a few months, returned 2 of them and am very happy with my final purchase. I’m reviewing all 3 of the benches because it was an educational experience and I hope other people don’t have to make the same mistakes I did. As background, I have a small apartment in NYC and wanted a bench to use with dumbbells because I was quitting my gym membership. I wasn’t trying to get a full workout machine because while that might be optimal, I don’t have enough space for something like that. So the goal was a sturdy, as-small-as-possible bench that would lie flat, but also do incline, decline, and 90 degrees. I initially went with the Cory Everson FID Weight Bench . I purchased this bench because it can fold up, lean against a wall and save space. Its main selling point to me was that it seemed similar to the Danskin Space Saver Bench that I had purchased a few years ago (and later sold on Craigslist when I joined a gym). I loved the Danskin bench because even though it’s seemingly made for women, it was sturdy enough for my 170 pounds and 5’9″ frame but folded up neatly. It was also just $119. I would have gladly purchased another one except it was no longer available. I’m not sure why Danskin no longer makes this great bench, but oh well. Anyway, the problem with the Cory Everson is that it is NOT sturdy. It was wobbly and felt like it might break at any moment. Therefore, I returned it to Amazon. I wouldn’t recommend this bench to anyone, any gender, no matter how much you weigh. Next, I went with the Bowflex SelectTech Adjustable Bench Series 3.1 . While it seems like this bench would be able to fold up and lean against a wall, I was surprised that it was so BIG. It was very sturdy, but it just wasn’t small enough to lean up against a wall and keep a low profile. The seat is also too wide and it makes doing a simple bench press awkward. I should have known that it was going to be big because the dimensions are clearly specified, but I didn’t “internalize” the dimensions until I saw the bench fully assembled. Anyway, I also returned this bench. I wouldn’t recommend unless you don’t care about the wide seat and you have sufficient space. The last bench that I bought was the Ironmaster Super Bench Adjustable weight-lifting Bench . It still doesn’t beat the Danskin in terms of space-saving abilities, but it’s solidly built (extremely so), smaller than the Bowflex (smaller footprint), and comes with a number of attachments to do dips, pull/chin-ups, sit-ups, etc. It’s relatively expensive with the attachments that I added, but I couldn’t ask for much more. My only complaint is that the height of the bench is higher than benches I’ve used at various gyms and so my feet don’t reach the floor when doing bench press. Also, the seat is awkward when doing incline because it’s square, it doesn’t remain parallel to the floor (it’s always at a 90 degree angle to the bench) and you can’t straddle it as easily as other bench seats. But that being said, if you’re looking for a dumbbell bench that’s relatively small but sturdy, this is the bench for you. I’m very happy with this purchase. Incidentally, I also purchased the Ironmaster 75 lb Quick Lock Adjustable Dumbbell System and it’s the best dumbbell system out there. It’s way better than the Bowflex and PowerBlock dumbbell systems. Without going to a store and putting all 3 dumbbells in your hand, you might not be convinced, but I called up Ironmaster and found a local store in my area and took a look in person. The main thing is that the Ironmaster do NOT rattle around at all (like the Bowflex) and the Ironmaster do not constrain the movement of your hand (like the PowerBlock) because they’re essentially a “regular” dumbbell except that you can change the weight plates. Now…THIS is a weight bench! Cheaper directly from the manufacturer (no, I don’t work for them, but I am always looking for the BEST deal). This bench is substantial, which means it’s fairly heavy, but still compact in comparison to other brands, which tend to look like flimsy ironing boards. It’s design is one of a kind and simple to adjust, the angle of the bench, with it’s foot lever. The packaging it’s shipped in is thorough and somewhat difficult to unwrap, which means it won’t get damaged. Assembly is a snap: insert and tighten (two wrenches needed) four screws to install the feet. That’s it. Worth the money if you workout frequently, like a variety of angles, and prefer a substantial feel to your workout equipment. Get the situp/crunch attachment if you plan on doing decline exercises.

Great bench I bought this bench directly from the manufacturer only because it was cheaper. The bench is great. You don’t have to do to much assembling once it arrives. Has various options. Debated between this one and the bowflex. In the end, I bought the dumbbells from bowflex and the bench from ironmaster. Good combo I reckon.

Really like this bench and some of the available add-ons! Great bench, VERY solid and easy to adjust. Haven’t used it with the dip or pull-up attachments because I have a power rack, but the leg extension add-on works great. I also bought the Ironmaster adjustable dumbbells and the dumbbell spotter and that add-on is AWESOME if you use dumbbells. The ONLY complaint I have about this bench is the seat isn’t that comfortable in the incline position. Could be a little more tapered maybe?…but this could change with a little use over time. This isn’t a deal breaker.

Great versatile bench I’d love to give this bench 5 starts b/c it really is a sturdy bench. Its easy to tell its well made and has some heft to it. The only reason I can’t give it 5 stars is b/c its too high for me and I’m 6’2″. Probably doesn’t help I have lower back issues, but I cannot lay flat on this bench with it being level. I have to incline it. The detachable seat is pretty sturdy and comfortable.

First bench I got my bench the other day and I was really happy with it. I don’t know why people say the bench doesn’t decline, it does…you just have to buy the crunch/situp accessory separately if you want something for your legs. I bought the bench, chin up attachment and the situp accessory and I love it. It seems rock solid. The bench does have a tendency to “walk” a little bit when doing a lot of chin ups, but this wasn’t enough cause for me to deduct a star. I found the bench to be great. I don’t have any complaints.

Super bench like no other. Ironmaster Super Bench Adjustable weight-lifting Bench Ironmaster Super Bench Adjustable Weight-lifting Bench. First of all, I am just your ordinary kind of guy. I am not an avid weight lifter or body builder so take what follows with that in mind. I just needed a bench to do some weight training. This bench is a beast. the adjustments are quick and easy. The backrest cover is appropriate for the intended use. The cushion is firm but not too hard but most importantly, it is not too soft. There are accessories that you can add to this but at additional cost. Would I buy this again? In a heartbeat. Will I need to? I don’t think so because this thing looks and feels like it will outlive me and my unborn grandchildren.

Could NOT be happier Essential home gym piece. I bought vs competitor because of the adjustable chin-up attachment at lowest setting would fit in my basement, I have a low ceiling. Also compared to competitor has highest weight limit. I love it, with chin-up attachment and dumbells complete home gym.

Carefull shopper I consider myself a very careful shopper. I do my research, shop for the best price and make the best purchase. While I didn’t buy this time from amazon, I highly recommend both the adjustable dumbbells and the super bench with attachments. I’ve had both for one month now and I don’t regret the purchase. The look and feel of the equipment is second to none as far as consumer adjustable dumbbells and FID benches go. I no longer dread my fitness routine. No more getting ready to go to the gym, just pull the bench out and go to town. With the combination I purchased, I’m able to perform a full body workout all week and feel like I went to the gym. The equipment is that sturdy. After experiencing ironmaster equipment, I can’t see myself using anything else at home. Trust me when i say, YOU WONT REGRET IT.

Solid, versatile and compact. That’s it in a nutshell. I have no hidden agenda as I bought this on the secondary market so what I CAN tell you it’s still solid six years on. For those that enjoy speed work outs this is the perfect bench. I tilt this to roughly a 50 degree angle and do dumbbell press then reverse immediately into an “”incline”” sit up position. The other way is to do the dumbbell press quickly, remove the seat and with the bar dip attachment reversed or over your head grab them and do leg lifts then reinsert the seat again. A word of caution before sitting down after adjustment. ALWAYS check to see if the bench is LOCKED down into the groove and double check it by pressing down on the seated end. There’s been a few times where I heard the click of the lever, go to sit down(as the dumbbells are on the floor next to my feet) and wham, my ass drops and the bench fly’s up. Luckily I caught myself. I’ll caution you to NEVER adjust the seat then pick up the weights & go sit down with weights in your hands. Don’t. Do. It. Be safe & double check the locking mechanism first. As for the height. Just to give an idea of my dimension the bench measured 19″”. I wear a size 30″” length jeans and with that I’m on my tipy toes. My arms whilst doing a press on the bench in the flat position the hex dumbbells can’t touch the floor naturally as I have to release them the last inch or two. I only bring this up for those of you with rotator cuff issues. I had to stretch and definitely felt the pressure in my shoulder as it’s unnatural to have the shoulder go in that direction. On the other hand as you can see with the Bowflex adjusted to 40# it was easy landing. My shoulder felt good due to the large circumference of the Bowflex weight. Both can be solved, the feet & dumbbell height, by building a diy small calf raise platform with some 2×4’s. No biggie. Otherwise the bench is very comfortable for me as I weigh 230 and do 40lb press and supports me firmly but not overly firm. Not having that gap there is a HUGE relief as I’m able to concentrate on weights not that damn crack my rear is falling into. Now someone weighing in at 300 and doing 90# weight might find the cushion to soft and I can see it compressing under that load. As for the attachments they are an added bonus and am appreciative of them. Although I found them to be sturdy & well built they do have a bit of play in them when working out with them which is par for the course of ANY attachment. Still, a good solid choice if you decide to get any of them. Well that’s it, thanks for the read and get it. You won’t regret it.

5 Star Bench / 4 Star Weights i decided to buy this after reading BlackSCRunner’s review and got the combination bench / weights off the ironmaster website, where it is cheaper i believe. for the bench importantly you need to know if you want to do any decline exercises you’ll need the situp attachment for your legs, otherwise it’s just a straight decline board and you’ll slip off. however, on the website they’ll have a combination for your combination where for less than it would cost to get all three you can add: -the situp attachment (good, but the padding on the part where your legs comes into contact is a little light, if you weigh over 200lbs it is going to be a little uncomfortable if you are doing almost upside down exercises (which you can do w/ this bench). i’d like to see them improve this or offer more padded pads) -the pullup bar attachment (awesome idea, nearly awesome execution. i really like it. i’m 6’1″ and if i reach up i can just grasp while almost on my toes the top of the bar on its highest setting. if you’re doing really hard and swinging pullups / chins you might need to slow down not to wobble it excessively but it is clearly sturdy enough to suffice for the job) -the dip attachment (i don’t like dips, but if you lay your body against the bottom of the bar underneath the bench (actually on the bar underneath that supports it, which actually is oddly comfortable) and tilt the bench upright a little you can do “australian pullups”, which you can’t do any other way so i like this attachment) so the bench is awesome. more awesome than i thought you are doing exercises, doesn’t feel right). i’ve also used the bowflex dumbbells. it was awhile back but here are the pros and cons i remember on them compared to these weights bowflex weight pros: -quicker to change (using the “dial”) than ironmaster -small footprint and takes up less space than ironmaster w/ all its extra plates sitting around bowflex weight cons: -can’t throw them around or they will break and be unusable -look cheap and plastic looking ironmaster pros: -you can use the weights like a “perfect pushup” and do pushups on them (i really like this) -they look good and feel good and solid, just like weights in the gym -if you get the combo cause you wanted the bench anyway i think the added cost of the dumbbells is significantly less than the bowflex 90lb dumbbells (i think it is about the same w/ the bench for the ironmaster 75lb dumbbells as the bowflex 50lb dumbbells) -very durable. you can throw these around (even according to manufacturer) and you can tell you’ll be ok -very solid system, i have no worry about a plate falling on me if i have tightened the weight, the bowflex i could see a weight potentially falling on me, maybe just because you don’t get to confirm how that system locks ironmaster cons: -takes longer to change and it is annoying, i found i just choose similar weights for exercises and group together ones that use the same weight to keep it quick. but with that and for the other advantages it is bearable i’d still get the ironmaster dumbbells over the bowflex dumbbells as the ironmasters excel over the bowflex in every aspect (and have some bowflex doesn’t) except for change time and you can work around that some. plus other reviewers seem to prefer the ironmasters. that’s the info.

Solid as a rock I recently sold my Bowflex 5.1 bench. The seat was starting to wobble badly. OVerall I was appauled by the quality and was very relieved someone wanted it on Craig’s List. I’ve been reading up quite a bit around benches and my criteria were pretty straight-forward: Something that could EASY manage with my body weight (200lb), be comfortable for my height (6’1″) and also handle the kinds of weights I use (my Powerblocks go up to 50lb each). I wanted a bench that could decline as well as incline, and go FLAT (unlike the Bowflex). Living in Vancouver, you don’t get to see Ironmaster products in the stores, so I had to rely on web reviews. I picked it up in Seattle today – wow. I’m impressed. This bench is rock solid. It’s actually not that big, it’s just the right size. When I lie on it and position myself my head and hips are supported comfortably. Moving up or down just a bit causes my hips or head to go off the edge. It’s narrow enough to allow for comfortable flys etc. The seat is not fastened to the bench. It sits securely due to your weight. It’s simple and works well. The seat has a steal base, but the bench foam itself doesn’t. It’s supported by something firm, probably heavy duty cardboard or something. It feels study enough to handle heavy weight on its edges. The semi-circular locking mechanism is uber-cool. You can control it by bending and lifting the latch, or pushing it down with your foot on the opposite side of the bench. Turning the bench 90 degrees and standing next to it, I can imagine that the chin-up attachment could be quite useful, even for someone of my height. That was a suprise. On the other hand, the supports that keep the bench stable side to side seem rather narrow for that kind of activity. And no, the semi-circular mechanism doesn’t look like it’ll really get in the way. Why the four stars? I know it’s good value as it is, but there would be two things I’s wish for: A steal base supporting the bench foam surface, and wider supports. One issue that isn’t really a ‘con’ as such, is the embroidery. I image white embroidery will stain with all the sweat I’ll (hopefully) by pushing out using this awesome bit of kit. I love it, and am starting to think of what attachments to get…

Awesome home bench! I purchased the Powerblock U90 weights a few months ago and I really needed a bench–I knew of the Ironmaster bench from when I had researched adjustable dumbbells and had narrowed it down to the Powerblocks or the Ironmasters, but that’s a different review;) I finally narrowed it down to the Bowflex 5.1 bench and the IM Super Bench. The Bowflex had price going for it–two twenty delivered–while the SB had quality and expandability in its favor. After hemming and hawing I finally bought directly from IM since they had a combo deal of SB, situp/crunch, and dip bar for three eighty to my door. On the surface it may look like I paid 160 more just for the dip attachment since the Bowflex already has leg holders for doing situps, but that would be erroneous logic since you can’t even compare the 2. The Bowflex has decline settings of 10 and 17 degrees while the SB has decline settings of, 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 and 85! You can do some serious ab work there. Also, since the incline settings are the same as the decline you can invert the dip bar and use the handles and do leg lifts. So enough about the comparison to the Bowflex. Here are things I like about the SB: 1) Sturdy. Rated to 1000 lbs. Feels super solid; very professional. Note: there was a tiny wobble when I first received it but once I tightened it up a bit with a 3/4 socket it’s been perfect. 2) Speed. The attachments come on and off super quick–10 seconds–and the seat in about 5 seconds. 3) Expandability. Even with just the situp attachment and the dip bar I can get a decent workout. I’ll probably get the chin up bar next, and eventually the leg-curl and the hyper-core attachment, oh, and the spotting attachment looks pretty cool, as well. As you can see, this thing is not just a bench but has the potential to be a kick-butt workout station all on its own. I also like the fact it came almost pre-assembled. Not a big deal but nice. Of course, the thing is wrapped up so well it took me awhile to unwrap it! Overall, I am so happy I chose this over the Bowflex. While the SB costs more, it’s of such high quality that once you get to use it you will never be sorry that you paid more for it.

Wow I just ordered this bench not too long ago from Ironmaster and received it about a week later. I’m not a small guy by any stretch of the imagination and my one great goal in life (among many others) is to lose weight and get in shape, like anybody else. I have an old Xodus bench in the basement with a squat rack that I’ve used off an on over the years but the major fault with the Xodus bench is the gap between the seat and the back rest. I know they had to design the bench with this four to five inch gap in order to make it adjustable, but my lower back always suffered for it. Well, thanks to Ironmaster, my lower back no longer has to suffer! As you can see from the picture, there is no gap that plagues so many adjustable benches. It’s rock solid, and I mean that. This thing holds my weight easily and is as steady as can be. I’m way impressed, and like I said, I’m not a small, skinny guy. Five stars. UPDATE – 7-25-2011 – I have been using this bench for a couple of weeks and again all I have to say is “wow.” This is an amazing, awesome bench. Miles ahead of my old Xodus bench in the basement. Rock solid.

The only reason I took off a star is that the accessory screw really should be a spring loaded captured pin instead of just a bolt. Changing accessory positions is not hard but could be so much easier.

Impressive Weight Bench, rooms for improvement Already having Bowflex adjustable dumbbells and needing a weight bench, I was debating on BF 5.1 Selectech, Marcy crunch board, or this Ironmaster bench. They, all have high 5-star feedback on Amazon. Marcy has lowest price and IM is the highest. I am happy that I made right decision with this IM bench and my money is worth it. No question about its robustness, stability, and numerous options of attachments (for dips, chin-ups, pulldown, leg extension, etc…) that the other benches cannot provide. The seat is black and metal frame is dark gray. Being the heaviest (60 lbs, almost 10 lbs heavier than BF 5.1, twice of Marcy), this bench stands solid, even with smallest 41×19″ footprint and still easy to be moved around (no need for wheels, which is optional attachment, BTW). Assembly was fast and shipping packaging was excellent. Its overall height 21″ barely fits underneath my Bowflex DB stand and altogether does not take a lot of space. I like the dip attachment and its handle also adds ease for moving. I bought on IM website as promotional bundle (along with crunch + dip) at same price of Amazon single super bench. 3″ thick straight seat and right angle pad eliminate nuisance of BF gap. However, I needed some time to get used to this right angled pad. The pad is a bit tall for me to get on with weight at some angles (10 – 30, but good thing I rarely use these locations). Logo IMSB on seat is kind of cool but I am afraid that its white color may be stained overtime. Chrome shiny color is a bit annoying on the bench pad and seat pad bottoms when inclined. So is color of nuts and bolts on feet tubes. Black anodized color would matches better with bench and other weight equipments. This 10-year warranty bench is over designed for my size (5’5, 165lbs), well engineered, and will last lifetime (except 1-year warranty seat upholstery). It would be nice if IM provides an option for 2 L-shape handle bars installed in holes of bench pad for holding during leg extension kicks. Suggested option/improvements: step for dip/pull-up (center post hole is already available, I welded 2 shipping feet tubes to form T for this purpose), lower seat pad for short people, extendable feet tubes for heavyweight lifter, additional tubes on the other end for pad seat or simple U-shaped crunch tube (eliminating complex crunch assembly). Crunch and wheeled feet should be standard. RE-VISIT (1-4-2012): Now, 18 month later, the bench is still like new. Width of seat is a bit narrow when I bench heavy weight DBs. I bought chip up attachment, the bench seemed lifted up at seat side. However, adding 40 lbs plates at that side, the bench is stable for chin-up.

A great bench I use this bench 3 times a week. This is an awesome bench, and I recommend it highly. It doesn’t ever wobble or make me feel like it’s going to topple over (p.s. – I’m over 6′ tall). Also, pulling the seat off and/or adjusting the FID angle is a piece of cake. For me, money well spent.

Overall, this is a good bench, not a 5 star bench. I am curious to hear from taller people regarding the practicality of it in the upright position. It’s heavy, but sturdy. It won’t tip, the seat won’t come out, and it’s comfortable.

Very well made Well as much as I love me some Amazon, the price is a bit cheaper on the companies website. My boxes arrived yesterday and I raced home and spent about an 1:30 carrying everything in, and putting everything together (11 boxes 300+pounds). I bought the Super bench, and pretty much all the attachments minus the calf block. They even threw in a decent quality tee shirt :). It took 5 business days to arrive which isn’t shabby. As it’s been said everything is extremely well made. Although putting this together wasn’t difficult, the directions could be better, quite sparse actually, with some of the steps assembled for you but not reflected in the directions. Like it was mentioned, the dumb bells aren’t made for a quick moving P90X workout but that’s just fine with me. I have yet to workout with everything as carrying all this stuff and putting it together was enough for me, so I will come back after a week or two for a more involved review after actually using the stuff. Misc notes. The stand is a bit smaller than I expected but sturdy when put together. The pull up bar does not wobble or shake, ( 6’2 210 pounds) and the ab attachment is just plain awesome. If I had to say what attachment I was least impressed with would be the preacher bar setup.

Awesome Commercial Bench! This bench is GREAT! It adjust to any angle, which is works well to acomodate anyones height in different workout positions. Stiching and leather, is of great quality. Worth every penny, easy to assemble. I havent used many attachments, but will be buying them soon! I am not a huge guy, but very fit and haved worked out in many gyms and on alot of equipment and this is a great bench you wont be disappointed!

definitely my favorite bench Having owned several $200 plus benches, this is clearly my favorite. I would purchase it again without hesitation. I’ve used it for 6 months. The plus side is the stability of the bench itself (not counting attachments). It’s solid and easy to move around if need be. This is made considerably easier by the optional wheel attachment. Changing bench angle could not be easier and once set, it is solid. No wobble. No slop. Angle can be changed in 1-3 seconds. Two things to note (has been mentioned by other reviewers). The seat is very easy to attach and detach — great design. It sits rather low though. I’m only 5′ 10″ and even I find it low (even at it’s highest setting). The low seat positions are a function of the pivot design. It’s a small issue that I don’t consider a problem per se, but potential buyers should be aware of it. ALso the bench is not very wide. That’s both a plus and perhaps a minus. The plus is that you’ll not feel any hindrance of shoulder or back movement when in the incline or flat position. The negative is that you do actually have to use some stabilizing muscle effort to stay properly aligned on the bench especially if using dumbells as I do. I actually don’t consider the narrow bench a problem, but again buyers should be aware of it. The covering and padding seem to be high quality and are certainly adequate for my needs.

Ironmaster Super Bench I’d been looking at this bench for a long time. I finally ordered it and all I can say is stupid me…..for waiting so long! This bench is amazing! Super sturdy and versatile. I ordered direct from Ironmaster and purchased the combo package with the dip bar and crunch attachment. I also ordered the preacher attachment as well. Set up was very easy. The quality is top notch. I highly recommend this bench!

The only bench you’ll ever need and more. Hands down this is the best Bench I’ve ever had the pleasure of owning, it’s extremely solid and very well constructed using high quality materials. Being 6’1 @ 240lbs, I feel the bench could be a bit longer but otherwise, it’s amazing. I haven’t had the opportunity to purchase the attachments yet but I use this thing 2 times a week and so far, it’s been great. I’ve never had the feeling that it was going to collapse or wobble or be unstable when I’m using it, once the locking lever is in place, it feels welded and secured. Setup took about 10 minutes or so, it took me longer to unpack the thing than it did to put it together but no complaints there. If you’re looking to build a home gym, buy this. Once you add in the attachments, it’s a very well rounded system. Bottom line, don’t look elsewhere, you won’t regret the purchase.

Perfect Bench This bench has made my workouts much easier. Adjusting the angle is so fast there’s nothing I’ve used that even compares. The crunch attachment makes decline presses as comfortable as using professional gym equipment, and of course is great for ab work. I just got the leg attachment today, and the quality of that is really top notch. Very smooth operation, and solid build just like the bench. The dip attachment is very high quality as well. With this bench and some attachments and dumbells (I use PowerBlock) PowerBlock Personal Trainer Adjustable 2.5 to 50-Pounds per Dumbbell Set , you have a really nice home gym. Worth every penny. Awesome quality.

Solid solid as a rock – VERY EASY to assemble (only put the two leg supports on), comfortable in upright position, flat, everywhere in between. very sturdy no movement whatsoever in any position. the lever mechanism and arched support with the slots is an ingenious design. very quick and easy to switch between exercises. works great for my wife also.

Great Bench! I was concerned about some of the negative comments from previous reviews, so I want to the Ironmaster showroom to see for myself before buying. Re: The Seat (When Upright) Is Too Close To The Floor This only seems to be an issue when using the bench in the fully upright position, and (again) is only really an issue for the really tall folks out there. The thing is, for seated (non incline) exercises you can optionally just use the bench as the seat. This gives you more than ample seat height if you’re tall, and at the various incline positions this doesn’t seem to be a problem. Re: It’s Too Tall I’m 5’9 with a 28″ inseam. I was really worried about this one, but when I tested the bench it wasn’t a problem. If you’re very much shorter than I then you might consider using a block of wood for firm footing but for average legs the height of this bench seems quite fine. Re: The Bench Doesn’t Decline Yep, this bench only rotates in one direction and if you want to use it as a decline bench then you need to turn it around (if you’re using a rack). From what I can see, the reason is that when the bench is flat it is actually supported by metal rails and not just the hinge. To both incline & decline all of the weight would have to be borne by the hinge – making it a potentially weaker bench (and likely not rated at 1000 lbs, even when flat). Re: You Should Be Able to Insert Accessories on Both Ends I tend to agree with this one. If the seat mount was redesigned a bit so that the seat-mounts were moved up about 6″ (on the other side of the pivot) then this would seem to be possible and an improvement too – but the lack of this feature is definitely not a show stopper for me. Re: It’s Unstable / Not Wide Enough This one *would* have been a show stopper for me, but I tested the bench with various accessories and it really wasn’t an issue. Bar Dips & Pull Ups were no problem. The only remote instability I saw was using the Cable Tower with one hand, without being seated on the bench and deliberately pulling diagonally / away from the bench instead of along its length. I don’t think you would ever use it this way. In fact, I was sufficiently impressed that I plan to buy the Cable Tower instead of a lat attachment for my power cage. Is it perfect? No. But after careful consideration I think it is much better than other, more expensive benches.

Wonderful fully adjustable bench It’s worth every cent. Buy the decline attachment and you have all of your bases covered. The seat is adjustable to three heights, which is useful for things like BB Military press (high setting) vs. BB incline press (low setting). Good range of motion available. The bench is nice and solid (read, heavy) so you may want to consider the wheels if you aren’t comfortable moving around a (I’m guessing) 45-50 lb bench. I’m a pretty strong guy and I’m still considering buying the wheels just for the ease of sliding the thing in and out of my power rack for different exercises. I did a TON of research, and while this is NOT the best commercial bench you can buy, it IS what I consider to be the best for at home purposes. If you don’t want to drop a grand on a bench, and want tons of utility, go for it.

The work out bench It was a gift for my husband. He loves it! I have purchased some of the attachments for it and it is very easy to use. I’m not one for working out but I have found myself using his bench for my own purposes. We have the sit up crunch piece and it attaches so easily that even if he was using the chin up bar and leaves it that way, the chin up detaches and the bench turns flat and the sit up bar slides right in. It is very much worth the money. Not something you are just gonna go out and buy at your local shop. For your home gym. This is the bench for you. The extra attachments booklet will sell itself.

Just get it. It’s versatile, simple, rock-solid and American-made. It’s got 1000 lb capacity and every angle adjustment you need. If you skimp on everything else and go for the garbage in the sporting goods stores, at least get this as your bench. TMI warning: my girlfriend and I have found enough ‘supplementary’ uses for the bench to make it worth that alone.

Good solid versatile bench This bench is heavy duty and adjustable to 11 different angles and is very easy to assemble. Other benches usually have less angles to choose from. There are several optional attachments like the Crunch Sit-up, Dip Bar Handles and Chin Up Bar that you can also purchase for this bench that makes it even more flexible. great design this is a very great design and the attachment that you can purchase separately will basically will save you on mucho dinero because there is no need for a gym membership. the construction is sturdy but the bases seem to off. i had to put this on a rubber mat to minimize the wobbliness from the attachments that i put on when doing dips or pullups. other than that it’s a great product.

… bench for a few weeks now and I’m very pleased with how it’s performed so far I’ve had this bench for a few weeks now and I’m very pleased with how it’s performed so far. Here’s my breakdown of the pro’s and con’s: Pro: Extremely fast and easy to adjust while you’re doing your workout. The seat slides in and out quickly and is held in place by gravity and friction. The lever underneath the bench is operated with a foot so making adjustments on the fly is quick which is great since you don’t waste time or cool down between exercises. Extremely stable: I haven’t felt it shift even slightly during any of my workouts. I do step-ups on it frequently so a stable platform is extremely important. Build quality is excellent: For such a light bench (only 60 pounds or so) it’s design is simple and efficient and putting it together only took about 5-10 minutes since it comes mostly assembled. Cons: Add-on’s are on the expensive side. I’ve considered getting the leg attachment but ruled it out for now because of the price. I may spring for it eventually. Not ideal for all heights: I’m on the short side (5’5″). The bench sits higher off the ground than other benches I’ve used in gyms. When the bench is fully horizontal, maintaining stability while doing bench presses can be challenging because of the distance from the floor. Putting weights down on either side mostly solves the issue so it’s not by any means a deal breaker. Also worth noting, other reviewers have mentioned that anyone above 6′ may have the opposite issue where the bench length is too short to accommodate them while lying on it. Final thoughts: So far I think I made the right choice with this bench. I’ve paired it with the T-2 titan power rack and a 200lbs adjustable barbell kit and 300lbs worth of weights for an olympic bar. I don’t believe durability will be an issue, especially with the 10 year warranty which definitely gives me some peace of mind.

Awesome Bench This bench is amazing. If you want a bench that inclines and declines look no further. Most of the ones that do both are not well designed. BUT this one does it very well. It’s solid. It’s well built. It will incline or decline to 90 degrees. Get the leg attachment for the situps. I’m 5’10” and weigh 185. I bench 300 and this bench takes that no problem. I love doing situps on it too. There’s a dip attachment available but I don’t have it. I can’t speak on that part.

Genius. Simply a design genius. The folks who designed this thing are brilliant. It is an AMAZING piece of equipment. I own the super bench and every single attachment they make, practically. If you call them up you can talk to the owner and find that he is very interested in ways to improve their products and they are, in fact, changing them for the better all the time based on consumer input. One example is the lat pull down attachment. I had observed that the leg pads for the lat pull down were on the vertical bar, which was too far in for me. I wanted to have an adjustable leg pad that was not actually on the vertical bar itself, so they made me one (!!!!) Welded it to spec. It is PERFECT! It is adjustable up and down the vertical bar plus adjustable horizontally for the leg pad itself. The bench fits into a very small room. The organizer they sell that holds the attachments was a big help in keeping things accessible and neat. Yes, it does take a minute to switch out attachments, but it is a small price to pay for having the flexibility to do so many things with this one bench. Yes, to do decline work you need the attachment for that — some people think this is misleading, but the Ironmaster web site makes it clear that it is needed for this type of exercise. Most attachments like the decline slip on and off really fast. The lat pull down attachment is bigger and takes a little bit longer. The quality of the build is excellent. Strong welds, pretty heavy duty. That being said, if you are a really big person you might not fit on certain attachments — not sure how large a person would fit. For instance, on the hyper-extension, it has a large range of adjustments that probably fit a large range of sizes. I am 5’8″ and it would work for people much shorter or taller than me, for sure. If you are quite heavy you might hesitate to use the chinup bar. It has a load rating of 300 lbs, but really, if you weigh anywhere near that you might be a bit hesitant to use it. It holds me perfectly well — no tipping, no swaying, no flexing — and I can swing myself around on it even. Very, very sturdy for me, but then I only weigh 120 lbs. It fits into a small room because you can choose from a variety of height settings. Some people worry about the dip bar due to the circular piece on the stand, but you can set the height of the bar up, and I have not come anywhere near the circular bar doing dips. I noticed some people are also concerned about the price of all the attachments adding up, but if you were to purchase individual gym pieces for each of these things it would cost a fortune compared to this. I’m guessing here, but my guess is that if you are anywhere from 4’5″ to 6’0″ you probably will fit just fine on this bench and attachments. Maybe even taller. If you are doing really heavy weights (for example, the lat pull down attachment is rated for 250lbs max) you probably want to look elsewhere for those types of machines. The bench itself can handle a lot of weight, however: 1000 lb rated, 11 & 12 gauge super strong steel frame. (600 lb rated for incline/upright positions), it is just a limitation on some of the attachments. Highly recommended.

Great bench I am very impressed with the ironmaster super bench. Its very sturdy and feels well built. The padding is very high quality and seems like it will last a very long time. Its very easy and quick to adjust the angle of the bench. My only complaints are that the seat is small and the bench is narrow.

Perfect!!! This is a great bench for not only my teenager, my husband but myself. Sizes ranging from 6’3 to 5’3 the bench works great for all of us. Ready to go out of the box in a matter of seconds. Love the different positions and it is sturdy! We also purchased the dip and crunch bar which is fantastic. Transitioning the positions of the bench and the accessories is so easy. Expensive but definitely worth the money.

Great construction, strong and sturdy Definitely a great buy. Sure it might be on the more expensive end, but it is a very strong and sturdy. Everything you’d need in a bench. One thing that prevents me from giving the 5 is that the base could be a bit wider, just to give more stability especially if you’re leaning on it with heavy weight. Imagine if you had to pick up some REAL heavy weight, I feel it might be possible to tip to the side if you became off balanced a bit. I use it for my home gym with dumbbells. I may invest in the chin up bar if I think it’ll really support my weight without tipping. In any case, definitely a good bench.

A perfect bench! I purchased several items from Ironmaster eariler this year and have been purposely dragging my feet on writing a review until now. I wanted to see if my opinion would change over time along with how the bench would wear. I am happy to report the bench still continues to wow me. The bench is rock solid with any of the attachments at any angle, even when using heavier dumbbells (90lb+). The 11 angle settings is fantastic, especially the first adjustment which is around 5 degrees, which is helpful when doing exercises on the end of the end of the bench so you sit a little lower for stability. The best feature is the ability to remove the seat. This design is solid and the 3 seat height setting is all you need. You can go from an incline position with the seat installed to a flat bench without the seat in literally 2 seconds! Awesome. The fit and finish has remained perfect. The paint and gelcoat are impressively strong and durable. The bench is still as tight as the day I bought it. The vinyl cover, padding and stitching still looks and feels like new after 9 months of use (4 days a week). The padding is still firm and hasn’t shown any signs of breaking down or getting soft in any areas. I use this bench solo and I also in combination with the ironmaster cable tower attachment (also highly recommended). I did spend a few extra dollars for the wheel kit add on for one side of the bench to make it super easy to roll around, I think its a must and totally worth it. In the past I wasted alot of time and money with a similar bowflex product but after buying the Ironmaster Super bench I haven’t looked back. Its an amazing product, well designed, well build.

King of the home benches.Versatile, heavy duty, best designed, awesome quality, game changer and stable. I actually found a great deal on cl for this bench (sorry amazon). I came from a bowflex 3.1 bench which is excellent in its own right but Let me tell you this is the best bench I’ve ever owned and I am proud of my investment. The quality rivals the ones at the gym. You can tell a lot of time and thought was put into the design and is a true game changer in home benches. It is a bit higher (20 inches high) than other traditional benches which might be an issue for shorter people because of leg straddle. I do not find this an issue (Keep in mind that I’m 5’10 and 155 lbs.) Bench: This bench is soo versatile and can be set to many angles. It is the best (in my opinion)designed,stable, Heavy duty but light, compact, and good looking bench.The build quality is truly awesome. The foam is very comfortable yet firm. I benched 225(my max at home) and I must say it being more narrow than other home benches really helps getting a full range of motion. It is effortless to change the angles of the bench and is the easier than traditional FID benches. Attachments: I was skeptical about the attachments which came with the ab, dip, pull up and leg developer attachments Most attachments that come with benches are medaicore at best. But damn I was impressed with the stability, quality ease of use, and functionnality. The ab attachment is so damn awesome and works well with the different angles of the bench. The dip bar is very stable with excellent adjustable height. And OMG the pull up bar. I already have a powertower to do dips and pullups which works great but I was soo impressed with the stability and how heavy duty of the pull up bar (might be shakey for heavier people). It actually has a higher height setting than my powertower. I must say it puts my powertower to shame in stability and quality. I still cant believe how well the pull up bar works with the bench. I have both the powerblock and Ironmaster dumbbells. With this bench added I have an awesome home gym and this bench is my favorite piece. Ironmaster makes awesome products and I advise if your looking for a bench to fit all your home gym needs look no further.This bench will do it all with the best execution of any bench or one station home gym. I absolutley love this bench and I am proud of my investment. Update 2/3/2014 Changed from 5 to 4 stars. Reason why is because the bench is not firm. It’s soft as a pillow and I can already see it flattening out leaving the vinyl cover baggy and wrinkled (keep in mind I’m 5’10,155 lbs so not heavy set at all). Its the same issue with the preacher curl attachment (See review on Amazon). Its fine if your weight is distributed throughout the bench but say if your using the preacher curl attachment and you have to sit at one part of the bench where your weight is concentrated. I’ve done a lot of research on benches, owned a couple and went to sporting good stores to test out benches before buying the ironmaster one. Can’t believe I missed this but all other benches (Marcy, powerblock, xmark, body solid, fitness gear from Dicks sporting goods) I used or tested have superior firmness over the ironmasters one that will last years. I feel like ironmaster took a shortcut to save money on the foam and used cheap stuff. The actual removable seat is very firm like it should be and will definitely last through time. I don’t understand why ironmaster could not of done it with the their bench and preacher curl attachment. With that said the super bench is still my favorite to use with probably the best ecosystem for attachments. Update – it’s been about a year since I’ve first got this bench which I now have 2. Still going good as new even both I have are used. A few things I learned is that the bench will be high for people under 5’9 even with my height of 5’10 I still feel it’s a little high which is absolutely not a deal breaker . To combat that I actually incline a little and that fixes the issue. Because there is so many height settings you are able to sacrifice a bit of an incline. I also use a curl bar to rest my feet on to combat the height. You can also use the leg curl attachment as a decline /ab attachment. I use a lashing strap so it doesn’t separate like your doing a leg curl. I have already have the decline attachment but wish they base the design of the decline attachment to the leg attachment. Which in a decline position is way more comfortable and eliminates declining at such a steep angle like you have to do with the actual decline /ab attachment. It’s still awesome an bench and has no rival.

I’ve wasted so much money I’m embarrassed by the number of weight benches I’ve purchased over the years. Flat benches, incline benches and folding benches. Most of them were fairly cheap (under $100), but a couple were in the $200+ range. If I would have only bit the bullet back then and bought the Ironmaster, I would have saved myself a lot of time and money. Like everyone else here has said, this is the best bench I’ve ever owned, bar-none. It’s sturdy, can be adjusted any way I want and more quickly than any other bench I’ve owned plus I can get attachments to make it a true home gym. I’m loving this bench so much that I’m actually spending more time working out. I’d recommend this bench to anyone. It is easily one of the best purchases I’ve ever made.

Responses to Objections The second most helpful reviewer (Patrick Goonan, 2007) gave it 3 stars (3.5) with a few objections. I’m not here to start some internet pissing contest but instead want to address those objections. For reference, I’m 5’6, 145-150ish lbs. I have a gym membership (that I use mostly for the pool and sauna) but thought it would be nice if I could just work out at home when I’m too lazy to go. I did about 2 and a half months of research before trying the IronMaster Super Bench. I went to local sport stores (and the gym) to check out their equipment. Universal, Marcy, Adidas, BowFlex, etc. The problem with adjustable incline/decline benches are that they’re usually 2 pieces (seat portion and back portion) not a one piece (not referring to attachments) like the super bench so when you’re using it as a flat bench, you’ve got that separation and it just doesn’t feel right. 1) Legs are two short, not wide enough to provide stability. I disagree. I do flat/incline leg lifts/knee ups on this thing and haven’t had any issues. If engineering is designing things for efficiency (for an intended use), then this bench was engineered, not just thrown together. 2) Attachments – the bolt and pin assembly is plastic. They could have made a knurled aluminum knob and that would have been nice so yes, this is a (semi-)valid objection, over time, it is conceivable that the plastic knob could/would break. I personally don’t think so, and unless you’re bashing your knob with a hammer (no innuendo implied there) it should last quite a while. 3) Using the bench in a confined space. Again I disagree, unless you’re using this thing in a coat closet, you shouldn’t have any issues. My bench is in my bedroom (the bachelor life) and I use it in a space no bigger than 4×7. I use flat, decline, and incline (with seat and crunch attachments). I will qualify my previous statement with the fact that all of my exercises are with dumbbells. I do not have/use the chin up or preacher attachments. In conclusion, this is a very well designed bench. Is it a bit pricey? That’s debatable. I got a bench with two attachments (comes with the seat, plus I ordered the crunch attachment) for under $400. It is nice that you can get other attachments (namely chin up, dip, and hyper core, plus others), so yeah, you are “buying” into the(ir) system, but you buy into “other” systems too and those other systems aren’t as well designed as IronMaster. I equate the IronMaster to the Audi/Benz of benches. You decide.

The accessories are easy to connect and disconnect and all of the equipment is very sturdy and well designed. The equipment came packaged very well too. No scratches on dings. Everything was in perfect condition! I will definitely buy more Ironmaster equipment in the future!!

Owned for over a year now, A++ Writing this review after using 5 times a week for over a year now. Bench looks and performs as if I bought it yesterday. If I was forced to name a Con, I’d say to do incline bench it took me a while to get a good height/angle setting that worked for me because the seat has just 3 height settings. But I figured it out. Solid construction, not much I can’t do with this bench, happy with my purchase.

5 months since purchase, works great with powertec rack. I have been using this bench with my powertec rack and they go very well together. I worked out at a local gym for a couple years so I have a pretty good feel for what quality equipment is. I went the home gym route for the last 3 years and had a marcy bench the first couple of years at home but had to upgrade to something heavier duty as my strength/ needs went up. After hrs and hrs of researching/reading articles/reviews I went with ironmaster. It seemed to get the best reviews for a “do it all” type of bench. I havent used the bodycraft bench which is the top competitor in its price range and many others also like, but compared to what I have used this is a very well made and versatile bench. I also ordered the sit up/ decline attachment and the leg curl/ leg extension. My pros: 1. I like how easy It adjusts from flat to incline/decline and how many different angles it can be set at. 2. It is very well built. Rated for 1,000 lbs which most of us will never exceed. Even the paint seems well done. 3. The seat has different heights you can set it at. 4. Stable. I have experienced no type of wobble. 5. cushion feels good. 6. the attachments are easy to put on/remove. the decline attachment works great to do decline crunches/ sit-ups for ab work as well. The leg curl/ extension is smooth and works well. 7. satisfies my main concern which was would it work in the incline position in my powertec rack. Fits like they were made for each other! 8. it looks good. I’m sure there are other things I forgot but overall it has worked great and I would buy this bench again if I ever had to. Cons: 1. its tall. 1-2 inches more than I prefer and I’m 5’10”. My cheap Marcy bench had a height of about 18 inches and was maybe a perfect height for me. I still use the ironmaster in flat position and works fine for me but do feel like I have to reach with my feet at times. An easy solution is to incline it at the first position, which is hardly even inclined (I don’t even consider it an incline press as it still feels like a flat press) but allows you to really set your feet down to push off. I say this because if I was shorter it might not feel that good at the flat position. 2. Decline dumbells would require a spotter. When declined you basically have to get up and hook your legs, which means you can’t be carrying dumbbells with you. Unless you have freakishly long arms you won’t be able to reach down/back and comfortably pick up dumbells. So now I just do decline work with my bar set in my power rack. 3. I paid extra to get the covers for the leg attachments. they are worth it but think they should be included. Ironmaster nickel and dimes you. after shipping this all adds up, basically cost me the same as my powertec rack. Can’t really complaint about this though because price is similar to other benches in its class. Since I had a power rack which came with a pull up bar and dip bars I never considered purchasing those attachment for this bench. Even if I didn’t have them on my rack I would not have considered this for a bench. It just doesn’t look that stable to me with those attachments. I could be wrong but I would save the $$ and purchase something else. My advice is if you can try out any exercise equipment before buying it do so. Even if you have to take a little drive. This bench should satisfy the needs of most people. don’t buy cheap, you will usually end up regretting and still buying what you really want down the road anyways. best to save up for what you really want and buy once.

Should have bought this one first This is a great bench. * Build quality – this thing is SOLID so it hard to imagine having any issues. * Stability – excellent. From presses to sit-ups this bench is extremely stable. * Ease-of-use – love the semi-circular adjustment mechanism. Fast and easy to set various angles. And the attachments are easy to place. * Size – great combination of being plenty long enough for a 6′ male and not too long that it takes up the room . My wife and kids like that the way it is put together such that no one accidently bumps into the feet when walking by it. * Looks – looks cool. What else to say – great bench that does what it is supposed to do. For comparison… a while back I bought the Stamina Ab / Hyper Bench – an okay bench but it was frustrating to use. The bench is too short to use effectively. Had to replace the pins with locking pins to make sure it was safe. In retrospect I should have bought the Super Bench first and saved myself the money and the time I spent with the Stamina bench.

Ironmaster is the best bench around I purchased the ironmaster Super Bench along with the dip and pull up attachments around nine months ago. It has been used at least twice a week since then, usually more. In that time it has demonstrated no significant wear or any wear related issues. It is sturdy enough for pull ups and I’m a big guy (around 235 lbs) so I was careful when I first got the system. I’m giving it a four out of five only because the seat is too low for me (I’m only 6’1″) and can be uncomfortable. In other reviews I’ve seen people talk about balance problems but I haven’t found that to be an issue. I would recommend this it to friends without reservation. Great piece of equipment and does a lot of the things you need in a home gym.

Super sturdy and versatile. Plenty of quality attachments go with this fantastic bench – and is certainly the best multi purpose bench Ive owned. I have had no issues with the Iron Master and 12 months on, I still am very impressed. It gets plenty of use – and I especially like the Hyper Core, Crunch and Dip Handle Attachments.
Dont bother with any Kmart or Rebel sports benches that may be cheaper.. The Iron Master is a near commercial quality at a very good price.

summary of most concerns This is the end all be all of benches for me. It has its con’s . but its the end of my journey for a solid sturdy bench. I’m very impressed with it just opening the box let alone how blow away it is actually working out with it. I’ve owned a powetech utility bench that came with my powertec lever gym and it was a total pile of trash in every way I can think of. It was awkward , would tip over when doing preacher curls and worst of all seat was crooked. Was sturdy and moved a bit. Prior to this I had a power block bench even worse. And a hoist bench which was good and sturdy and was basically my standard for what a bench should feel like. I was upset because all the benches that appeared to be decent are commercial benches like the hoist ones I had my eye on. And they cost 800 bucks. So I settled on this bench hoping it would work out. And I completely underestimated the construction quality. Even the bench is fully assembled I’m the box. Its heavy but this is necessary . its sturdy has no wobble. Which all benches I’ve tested in stores do under 300. So there’s nothing on amazon I can see that will beat this IMO for the price range. The reason will be due to its design. It has so few pivot points and backrest doesn’t rest on a prop like normal bench designs. So my word of advice is factor in your height which most complaints come from about it. I’m lucky I guess being tall and am close to arching my back when my feet sit flat on the ground. But still super happy with it despite feeling like spending more than 200 was too much for a stupid bench until you realize even 300 dollar ones are still crap. This is all there is ATM thats built like a rock that I came across . the xmark brand 330 dollar ones looked okay but I read complaints with wobbling and jumped ship despite mostly excellent reviews. I think I made a good choice. This thing feels like a commercial piece no doubt. Here’s the concerns I found prior to purchase that are true. -the the height of the bench in flat position is pretty tall. Its fine for me but I’m 6’2. So if your much shorter its going to get very uncomfortable. There’s ways to deal with this and I may employ myself. Using a calf block to elevate my feet will probably be enough to eliminate this problem. -height of the seat in the upright position for military press etc being too low. This is sorta true but I found it to be perfectly fine for me. And even at my height I didn’t have any complaints. Or ironmaster could make an attachment for the accessory tube that has elevated foot rests . problem solved!. – the pull up bar and dip bar seem potentially useless if you want to hang weights off urself. And would be obstructed by the half circle thing inside the bench. -wish the caster wheels were built in. Seems silly to have to buy them separately . makes the bench feel a incomplete . That’s its guys.

Quality! The quality of this bench is the best! I go to the gym all the time and decided to get this for home use when I’m strapped for time. I got to tell you you get your money’s worth on this baby! It’s standard bench size and WILL NOT TIP OVER unless you’re a wide person who will need a wider bench like the commercial grade Hoist bench. I watched the YouTube videos of large people using this though and it looked sturdy to me. I’m 5’8″ 170lbs 28 yrs old and it’s perfect. It’s so cool how you can attach a different attachments to do dips, pull ups, abs, preacher curls, and more quickly and all on an all in one bench that just fits in my small bedroom. This is the best bench I’ve ever seen out there for small spaces. Compared to the power block bench the dip bar is much longer on the iron master super bench as well, although their powerblock weights are amazing. I pair this bench up with most of the attachments and a powerblock elite 130. Don’t worry about the crescent metal piece that adjusts the bench because if you use the bench correctly I didn’t find that it gets in the way of your legs when doing dips or pull ups. Over all for home use this is a buy!

iron master bench I had this bench for about a year now and I am 6’1″ tall and had many bench’s before this one, and this is by far the best bench I have ever owned, You can do setups almost straight up almost, as long as you got the sit up attachment that’s extra cost but worth it… and I would recommend this to anyone who works out, DEC 26,2014 another year and I still love it…

nicest bench I’ve seen I’m an amateur lifter with a home gym. I’m impressed how well this is built. You pull a catch to readjust just like a car seat. The catch is very smooth, rotation is smooth, the leather looks well-upholstered. The bench is a tad bit high than I’ve bench pressed with in the past, I find myself putting the tips of my toes in the ground to get a good form, with my 30″ inseam legs. I’ve been to a few gyms and frankly this is the nicest bench I’ve seen. Very happy.

Well Designed Flat/Incline/Decline Bench This is a fine and sturdy bench. I have been using it for over 2 months and am quite satisfied with it. I purchased the crunch sit up and chin up attachments and am quite happy with both accessories as well. Many folks find this bench to be high for flat bench presses, however, it seems to suit me just fine (I am 5’8″). The mechanism for changing angles on this bench with either foot or hand is a beautiful design. I am now waiting for my dip attachment to arrive so I can start pounding my lower chest for a more complete chest workout.

I belong to a gym but have difficulty getting there during the week because of my long commutes to and from work. So, I decided to buy some exercise equipment for my garage to save myself some valuable time during my lengthy work weeks. Knowing that a good, solid bench would be the focal point of my exercises, I began my search for one on the Amazon website. I am very happy to report that my investment in the Ironmaster Bench was a very good one. The bench is quite solid and sturdy and is evidently made of high quality materials. Further, it is very easy to put together and requires almost no assembly save the tightening of eight hex bolts/nuts at the base of the bench. It is an amazingly versatile piece of equipment and I have to say that the available attachments only add to the appeal of the Ironmaster Bench. The number of exercises that can be performed on this bench, along with its four attachment pieces, is seemingly limitless. I am considering purchasing the Ironmaster adjustable dumbell set to complement the other accessories so I can further expand the range of possible exercises in my new home gym. I am six feet one inch in height and weigh 225 pounds. I find this bench to be a perfect fit for my weight and my height. I cannot recommend this bench and its attachments highly enough. If you take weightlifting and exercise seriously and want to make a wise investment in a home gym system, invest in these Ironmaster products. You will not be sorry you did so!

Just go ahead and pay up for this bench…it is worth every penny! This is easily the closest gym bench to commercial grade. The quality is just fantastic. I love the modular design and having the option to add attachments to add utility to the bench. I ended up getting a package deal that came with the decline, chin up and dip attachments. I only researched the Bowflex 3.1, 4.1 and 5.1. Those are just the number of settings and in reality, for adding an extra stop on the Bowflex bench they add another 50 bucks or so! If that is your metric, than the sheer amount of settings this bench has will pay for itself! Check out Ironmasters website for a package deal (also their products seem generally cheaper when buying direct).

Bomb. This bench is the bomb. Super sturdy and quick to adjust. The ability to incline AND steeply decline is unmatched in other benches. You can basically hang upside down for crunches if you like. Dip bar is great – very sturdy no complaints.

Good multi-purpose bench Good multi-purpose bench. I think its jack-of-all-trades versatility is its best feature. When it comes to using the bench flat, it can be quite high and your feet might not have a firm hold on the ground. If this is important to you, I would get a proper flat bench. But if you do not have a lot of space and need just one bench to do it all (and if your legs are long enough for the flat position to be suitable enough), then this bench is the best option available.

Not the best flat bench but versatility blows away the cons!! Verry Nice ALL purpose bench! Well built. Great if you need Jack of all trades bench. You do sacrifice a liitle to get such a multi purpose bench. (why the 4 stars) I have also found that because this bench is designed for soo many atatchments. it does sit a little high. I am 6 foot but have short legs. my inseem is 30 inches. if I put my feet flat on the floor my lower back over extends slightly. Fortunantly for me I do not bench with my feet on the floor. I keep my legs raised so this is not a problem for me, but might be for others. Also another review mentiond the bench wobbles slightly due to one of the cross bars on the bottom not being flat. mine does also. I thought it might be a problem, but I havent noticed it at all when I am lifting in any position. As far as the pros outwieghing the cons, this bench is awsome at versitlity. It swivels effortlessly at plenty of angles and locks in solidly. I also orders the cable tower attatchment. Thats where this bench truely shines!!! The tower as an ultra small footprint and is quite sturdy and smoother than the cable machines at my local gym. once detatched it easily rolls away to creat more space. I was going to but the Rouge fitness ab 2 adjustable bench for $1000. Instead I got the Iron master super bench, the cable tower attatchment and a set of iron master dumbell for the same price. I am soo glad i did!

Perfect bench for me. I’m 6’1″ This bench is fantastic. My goal was to setup a home gym that takes up minimal space and is very durable. This fits the bill perfectly. I am glad I sprung for such a solid and versatile bench. The range is great, it is comfortable. Does it have room for improvement? Yes, but a lot of great stuff could be better. I’m 6’1″ and 290 pounds. I’m down 20 pounds after changing diet and exercising. This bench fits me well.

At home lifting I am 5’10 and my fiance is 5’11. This bench works for us in all settings except when it is 180 degrees perpendicular to the ground. We can’t lay back on it to do chest work because our feet don’t touch the ground. (Like Chest Presses) The seat is comfortable and this thing is super sturdy. The stiff padding makes it comfortable even when lifting heavy weight. It doesn’t take much room in our living room and I knew it didn’t have wheels on it when I bought it so make sure it is where you want. It isn’t too heavy to move if you need to. We bought PowerBlock Classic 70 to pair with this.

I received my order today and I am more than happy with my decision of purchasing these items, the build quality is remarkable, this is what I was expecting and it did not let me down. I love the quick lock dumbbells, it’s a very quick transition when you are changing weights and you could use it as your rest period. The super bench is my fourth FID bench and the second cheapest bench I have purchased, the only down side is that you need to purchase the crunch attachment for decline (for decline bench press) but who bloody cares… beats going to a gym with other people and listening to shit music. I now have a complete home gym set up, once again thank you.

My Review of the Ironmaster Super Bench
Having used a lot of different workout benches I can honestly say the Ironmaster Super Bench is by far the best workout bench I have used. I think its simple design with the foot lever to change the bench angle makes it the quickest and easiest bench to adjust on the market, and for a bench sitting on only one upright this thing is super heavy duty which you can tell when you pick it up, it is Solid!
Also the wide range of attachments you can get for this Bench can open up a whole variety of exercises you can do with one bench, I have the Preacher Pad, Leg Extention, Dip Handles, Hyper Core, Chin Up and the Crunch attachment which all work great plus I use the Super Bench with my Ironmaster IM2000 Self Spotting Machine which are made for each other.
I have to say this Super Bench impressed me so much that I had to get another one so that if I was working out with someone we wouldn’t fight over it! plus now one can be used on my IM2000 while using the other one with dumbbells or with one of the many attachments. This Super Bench exceeded my expectations from the first day it arrived and still impresses me every time I use it, I am proud to own such a quality bench and during every workout it is one thing I always feel was money well spent.

Lives up to the title – SUPER! If you are built like a tank, then why isn’t your workout bench? The Super Bench is well, super. If you don’t know how to use a workout bench this product is not for you, but I suspect you know exactly what this product is, and you’re right it is awesome. a great multipurpose bench this was the first utility bench I actually purchased I must say I was definitely impressed with the quality even though it is easy to adjust when it is locked in the bench feels very stable, so far I have really enjoyed the quick release attachment system they have developed for equipment you can buy to accompany the bench I have had no problems with it, This bench has a good amount of padding however it’s not too soft or two cushy to where you start worrying about getting out of proper form, it was very easy to assemble pretty much bolt the feet on and you’re ready to go, I like the list of attachments they have available for this bench definitely interested see if they come up with anymore,

Home Lifter Great, great bench for all body types. My husband and I use this in all settings for various workouts. We both love the comfortable seat and sturdy secure feeling you have while using the bench. Some benches are loose and creaky, this one is not. Even when I’m doing extremely heavy weight, the stiff padding of the bench still makes it comfortable. It’s compact enough that we have it in our relatively small living room, so if size is a concern, you should be good. It’s also light and easy to move!

Awesome Bench! With all the attachments, this is the most versatile weight bench I’ve ever seen. It’s comfortable and sturdy in any setting. Even more impressive was Ironmaster’s customer service… After about 6 months of heavy usage a small tear developed in the vinyl of my bench. I sent Ironmaster a picture and they immediately mailed me a brand new bench pad, no questions asked. Best on the market I have been using this bench for 8-9 years and completely happy with this product. The locking latch occasionally gets stuck and the bench seems to flex in the middle depending on how your using it but overall excellent, very versatile and durable in my experience.
I would still like to see a brace in the middle of the board to eliminate the flex.

Glad I purchased it – very solid, big enough for a 6’2 guy, easy to adjust, nice options. As a new exerciser, this was a great addition. I researched these quite a bit and talked to some enthusiasts about which features matter. Very happy with the purchase. I have a small home gym (treadmill, adjustable dumb bells, etc.). A weight bench was next on the list and this really hit it out of the park. I’m about 6’2 and fit on it nicely. If I was around 6’4 it might be too small. It’s light enough that I can readily move it around. I do wish it had some way to collapse or flatten so it could be tucked away, but doing so would probably compromise the incredibly solid feel of the product.

It is also one of the most versatile benches I have seen. There are several attachments available that go with it. I will be buying the leg extension and the cable attachment soon and I cant wait to try those out. It is very well made and will hold a great deal of weight. I am 6″ and 282lbs and this bench doesn’t budge. It has a great deal of adjustments so you will be able to find whatever you need for the exercise you are doing. It is a little high like other people have said, but I can deal with that so its not much of a problem for me. If you need to, fashion something to rest your feet on while doing bench press and you will be set. Also, it is somewhat heavy to move but not overly so. I can lift it ok so its not a deal breaker by any stretch. If I had to buy another bench I would not hesitate to buy another Super Bench. Highly recommended!

Sets the standard for other benches If you’re a person who is a no-nonsense lifter and needs a no-nonsense bench that will last for years, this one is definitely up your alley. Ironmaster builds very-well made, long-lasting lifting equipment. Not much to add to it’s listed specs and other reviews. I just like it so much that I’m putting up another 5-star review recommending it to anyone considering it. Purchased in 2007 with the dips and situp attachment and besides where my puppy chewed a mark on a leg cap, it’s still as good as new. Depending on your situation, I’d highly recommend the situp attachment, well, for situps, and, if you do high-angle declines, it’ll lock you on it. I like the dips attachment too and would like the other stuff available for it, but really haven’t found them necessary with my routines. The bench continues to impress me especially when I get on other benches. Many are a PIA to adjust and some haven’t been very comfortable. Many have a novel way of adjusting their angle, as does this one, but Ironmaster got it right. Adjustment is really easy, quick, and reliable. You won’t ever struggle to put it in a new position nor get on it to have it move a little and ‘click’ into position while squeezing out a set. Regarding comfort, I’m 6’2″, 220lbs and find the firmness just right. The padding is a thicker than other benches and doesn’t flatten out uncovering some weird bump or support beam underneath. But, it’s not so thick that it will cause imbalance. The cover is still tear free, and b/c of its shape, it would be super simple to re-cover. It is a little narrower than other benches, and to those who deem this a fault, I’d argue it helps keep your lifting honest. If you’re falling off, there’s a possibility you may not be doing it right. Again, if you’re considering it, pony up and do it so you can get to work.

This bench came extremely well packed and was extremely easy to put together. It’s extremely sturdy (it has a shipping weight of 70lbs if I recall correctly) and adjusting the bench position is extremely smooth. There are two issues that made me give this a 4 star rating. First, the bench is a little high off the ground and about 20 inches. My last bench was about the same, so I’m used to the height, but it would have been nice if it was lower. Second, A small piece of welding got inside the top tube and required me to grind it out in order to get seat to go in all the way. This bench was purchased as part of a combo deal that included the leg attachment used for sit-ups and the dip attachment. The dip attachment is a no brainer to put together, but the leg attachment can be a hassle if you don’t read the instructions. There are two different size sets of pads and two different size bars and if you put the wrong pads on the wrong bars you are going to be taking things apart again. I also bought the cable tower attachment, which is not listed on amazon, and it is great, but you really need to read the instructions and not just go by the pictures, especially when it comes to putting the cables on the pulleys. Some of the cables can not be put on the pulleys after the pulleys are attached, so read the directions carefully, or you are going to be taking things apart again. Overall, I am extremely impressed with the Ironmaster line of products and look forward to adding their dumbbells to my miniature home gym. EDIT (5-21-16): Just wanted to check in and say that this bench is amazing. After using this for about 5 months I’m upping my review to 5 stars. If anything happened to this bench I would replace it in a heartbeat.

THE BEST piece of equipment you can buy for a small home gym I’ve owned this bench since 2010, it still looks new 6 years later. I use it 3-5x/week. With the various optional attachments it can turn a very small space into an incredibly functional home gym. It and the optional accessories are not cheap by any means but each one is the embodiment of “you get what you pay for”! I feel they’re a bargain!
My only complaint is that at 5’8″ tall, w/ a longer torso and shorter legs, my feet aren’t flat on the floor when lying on it. It’s NOT a big deal though.

Ironmaster Super Bench I decided to go for this bench after seeing it at the Valley fitness stand at the Bodypower expo. I am very pleased with this product. Extremely sturdy, rock steady and built to last. I am a personal trainer and bought this for my exercise studio. I was more impressed with this bench then many of the more expensive commercial models on the market.

Received my super bench today with abs & chin up attachment . The bench it’s self is very good quality made of very thick and sturdy steel and feels more like a high end commercial one. In flat mode I heard it was too high being 20″ off the ground but I’m only 5ft9″ and I can easily have my feet flat to the ground. I would highly recommend this bench and the attachments to anyone who wants a home gym.

For reference, I’m 5’6, I have a gym membership (that I use mostly for the pool and sauna) but thought it would be nice if I could just work out at home when I’m too lazy to go. I did about 2 and a half months of research before trying the IronMaster Super Bench. The problem with most adjustable incline/decline benches are that they’re usually 2 pieces (seat portion and back portion) not a one piece (not referring to attachments) like the super bench so when you’re using it as a flat bench, you’ve got that separation and it just doesn’t feel right. If engineering is designing things for efficiency (for an intended use), then this bench was engineered, not just thrown together. this is a very well designed bench. Is it a bit pricey? That’s debatable. I got a bench with two attachments (comes with the seat, plus I ordered the crunch attachment and dip attachment) for under £400. It is nice that you can get other attachments (namely chin up, leg, and hyper core, plus others), so yeah, you are “buying” into the(ir) system, but you buy into “other” systems too and those other systems aren’t as well designed as IronMaster. I equate the IronMaster to the Audi/Benz of benches. You decide.

This bench is an absolute dream. As solid as you could possibly want. Every piece is solid and built to take a lifetime of use. Gym quality. It basically comes assembled. You have to bolt on the feet, but it comes with everything you need. No tools necessary. I had my bench up and running within ten minutes of opening the package. Easy as can be to adjust the incline. Push a pedal and pull. Adjusts from flat to just about 90 degrees. The seat has multiple positions. The attachments that can be added are great additions. I have the pullup bar, dip station, and incline sit up attachment. Some have expressed concerns about the stability of the bench when using the attachments. No need to have any. I am a big guy and felt completely comfortable doing pullups. No tipping and no wobble at all. This bench is an outstanding deal. Well worth the money. I have worked out in more gyms than you can name. I have my own home gym. I have been around and I know great equipment when I see it.

The finest home gym adjustable bench at any cost! I have owned countless home gym benches over the years. Fixed, adjustable, cheapo and High End Nautilus. This bench is the king. Heavy duty, versatile, and loads of attachments should you want them. It does everything I ask of it, and more! Unique design works very well, and although it is bolted rather than welded, it is ALMOST as sturdy as the very expensive pro grade single purpose benches in the best gyms (and better than many in lots of inferior gyms). Pair this with the Ironmaster or Powerblock dumbbells and you’ve got a complete weight solution in your home. I couldn’t be happier, and I can’t believe all the time and money I wasted on inferior benches. For those of you considering the competing Powerblock bench, don’t bother. I’ve used both and this is hand’s down a better design, and better function as well. I’m thinking about getting some add-ons for mine, but for now it’s just fine as is. I did a lot of research before buying this bench, and I tried it out in person (which some of you may not be able to do) and I am sure glad I found it. Much better than having 2 or 3 different benches taking up room. I think you will like it, I sure do!

I recently sold my Bowflex 5.1 bench. The seat was starting to wobble badly. OVerall I was appalled by the quality. I’ve been reading up quite a bit around benches and my criteria were pretty straight-forward: Something that could EASY manage with my body weight (200lb), be comfortable for my height (6’1″) and also handle the kinds of weights I use (my Powerblocks go up to 50lb each). I wanted a bench that could decline as well as incline, and go FLAT (unlike the Bowflex). I’m impressed. This bench is rock solid. It’s actually not that big, it’s just the right size. When I lie on it and position myself my head and hips are supported comfortably. Moving up or down just a bit causes my hips or head to go off the edge. It’s narrow enough to allow for comfortable flys etc. The seat is not fastened to the bench. It sits securely due to your weight. It’s simple and works well. The seat has a steal base, but the bench foam itself doesn’t. It’s supported by something firm, probably heavy duty cardboard or something. It feels study enough to handle heavy weight on its edges. The semi-circular locking mechanism is uber-cool. You can control it by bending and lifting the latch, or pushing it down with your foot on the opposite side of the bench. Turning the bench 90 degrees and standing next to it, I can imagine that the chin-up attachment could be quite useful, even for someone of my height. That was a suprise. On the other hand, the supports that keep the bench stable side to side seem rather narrow for that kind of activity. And no, the semi-circular mechanism doesn’t look like it’ll really get in the way. Why the four stars? I know it’s good value as it is, but there would be two things I’s wish for: A steal base supporting the bench foam surface, and wider supports. One issue that isn’t really a ‘con’ as such, is the embroidery. I image white embroidery will stain with all the sweat I’ll (hopefully) by pushing out using this awesome bit of kit. I love it, and am starting to think of what attachments to get…

I will be short and sweet. I have had the complete system for about exactly one year(IM 2000,SUPERBENCH,and DUMBELLS, and all ATTACHMENTS).I went to gyms for about 5 years and I know what quality is. The unit is not as good as gym equipment, but it is very good for home(especially for heavy duty weight lifters).I love it!!!! No more going to the gym for me. I get pretty much the same results staying at home. You won’t be disappointed. I was skeptical at first to, but I am glad I bought it, very solid. The Superbench is awesome, well worth the money. The dumbbells are great to, very solid. Five stars for everything.

This is the only bench you’ll ever need and more. Hands down this is the best Bench I’ve ever had the pleasure of owning, it’s extremely solid and very well constructed using high quality materials. I haven’t had the opportunity to purchase the attachments yet but I use this thing 2 times a week and so far, it’s been great. I’ve never had the feeling that it was going to collapse or wobble or be unstable when I’m using it, once the locking lever is in place, it feels welded and secured. Setup took about 10 minutes or so, it took me longer to unpack the thing than it did to put it together but no complaints there. If you’re looking to build a home gym, buy this. Once you add in the attachments, it’s a very well rounded system. Bottom line, don’t look elsewhere, you won’t regret the purchase.

Now…THIS is a weight bench! This bench is substantial, which means it’s fairly heavy, but still compact in comparison to other brands, which tend to look like flimsy ironing boards. It’s design is one of a kind and simple to adjust, the angle of the bench, with it’s foot lever. The packaging it’s shipped in is thorough and somewhat difficult to unwrap, which means it won’t get damaged. Assembly is a snap: insert and tighten four screws to install the feet. That’s it. Worth the money if you workout frequently, like a variety of angles, and prefer a substantial feel to your workout equipment. Get the situp/crunch attachment if you plan on doing decline exercises.

Great Bench! We just purchased the Super Bench by Ironmaster. It was ordered on a Tuesday and was delivered on Thursday. It took longer to unpack it than it did to “assemble” it. Assembly consists of attaching the legs with four bolts and nuts. The bench is awesome. It is easy to adjust but super solid in every position. It takes up very little room in our bedroom. It is light enough that I can pull it out when I use it an then tuck it back into the corner of the room afterward. We also ordered the situp attachment. This is pretty much required if you are going to do decline bench presses. The attachments take less than 2 seconds to install and remove. With the easiness of changing angles and the quickness of installing/removing attachments, you can reconfigure the bench for different exercises with ease and little time. I have not owned other benches so I can only comment on this one. I would not consider any other bench simply because I am completely happy with this one. The only thing that would be nicer is if the ironmaster products were available in local shops. This would enable a buyer to see and test the products before buying. I own the bench and the dumbbells and couldn’t be happier. I would not hesitate buying other ironmaster products as a result.

Better bench than most gyms have. I bought the entire bench + pull-up bar + dip bar + incline leg-holder and the dumbbells w/ 120lb add-on kit directly from the manufacturer. All of these items are extremely well made and put together. I predict that they will last probably 20 years with proper maintenance (wiping up sweat from the cushions etc.). I highly recommend the Iron Master stuff because of the impressive engineering of the bench and dumbbells, they’ve managed an impressive design, which is why they probably have patents on many of their items. All-in-all, if you’re serious about weight-training, i would quit the gym and spend a year’s member dues to get the set, it’s well worth it. Finally, the dumbbells are really adjustable so that small or less strong users are able to use them with no problem because they go from approximately 5lbs to 120lbs in 2.5lb increments.

This is a fine and sturdy bench. I have been using it for over 2 months and am quite satisfied with it. I purchased the Dip and chin up attachments and am quite happy with both accessories as well. Many folks find this bench to be high for flat bench presses, however, it seems to suit me just fine (I am 5’8″). The mechanism for changing angles on this bench with either foot or hand is a beautiful design. I am now waiting for my crunch attachment to arrive so I can start pounding my lower chest for a more complete chest workout.

This is a great bench. * Build quality – this thing is SOLID so it hard to imagine having any issues. * Stability – excellent. From presses to sit-ups this bench is extremely stable. * Ease-of-use – love the semi-circular adjustment mechanism. Fast and easy to set various angles. And the attachments are easy to place. * Size – great combination of being plenty long enough for a 6′ male and not too long that it takes up the room . My wife and kids like that the way it is put together such that no one accidently bumps into the feet when walking by it. * Looks – looks cool. Buy the decline attachment and you have all of your bases covered. The seat is adjustable to three heights, which is useful for things like BB Military press (high setting) vs. BB incline press (low setting). Good range of motion available. The bench is nice and solid. I did a TON of research, and while this is NOT the best commercial bench you can buy, it IS what I consider to be the best for at home purposes. If you don’t want to drop a grand on a bench, and want tons of utility, go for it.

The price may be high relatively speaking, but the build quality is up there what you find at the gym coupled with varying degrees of adjustments. I utilize the DIP BAR, CHIN UP BAR and the CRUNCH SIT UP attachment all of which fit neatly and securely into the bench. By coupling this with a set good dumbells your set. There have been some complaints about the feet/stance not being wide enough… while I would agree a wider stance/footprint would be nice, I feel the perch is more than adequate and the discipline of balance should be followed when using any form of free weights. NOTE, the quality of the attachments made for this bench are first class and offer great options in your workout.

Set-up: Set-up is simple with just the installation of four bolts at the support legs. Also, the unit is packed using heavy nylon zip ties (cable ties) so a pair of sharp scissors or utility knife will help. You will spend more time unpacking and discarding the cardboard than actually putting the unit together. Quality: I wanted a bench that was near gym quality, durability, with more functionality. So before this purchase I examined the adjustable benches at the gym for sturdiness and metal gauge thickness. I found that the Ironmaster bench met these requirements at least on paper, so I purchased the bench and I am not disappointed. The ab attachment provides the additionally functionality that I was looking for. What I like about the bench is the multiple adjustments that the bench provides with an easy to use spring loaded lever. The adjustable seat works well for me as I have a 6 foot 3 inch frame. This is a near commercial quality bench at a reasonable price and I would purchase again.

King of the home benches.Versatile, heavy duty, best designed, awesome quality, game changer and stable. I came from a bowflex 3.1 bench which is excellent in its own right but Let me tell you this is the best bench I’ve ever owned and I am proud of my investment. The quality rivals the ones at the gym. You can tell a lot of time and thought was put into the design and is a true game changer in home benches. It is a bit higher (20 inches high) than other traditional benches which might be an issue for shorter people because of leg straddle. I do not find this an issue (Keep in mind that I’m 5’10 and 155 lbs.) Bench: This bench is soo versatile and can be set to many angles. It is the best (in my opinion)designed,stable, Heavy duty but light, compact, and good looking bench.The build quality is truly awesome. The foam is very comfortable yet firm. I benched 225(my max at home) and I must say it being more narrow than other home benches really helps getting a full range of motion. It is effortless to change the angles of the bench and is the easier than traditional FID benches. Attachments: I was skeptical about the attachments which came with the ab, dip, pull up and leg developer attachments Most attachments that come with benches are mediocre at best. But damn I was impressed with the stability, quality ease of use, and functionality. The ab attachment is so damn awesome and works well with the different angles of the bench. The dip bar is very stable with excellent adjustable height. And OMG the pull up bar. I already have a powertower to do dips and pullups which works great but I was soo impressed with the stability and how heavy duty of the pull up bar (might be shakey for heavier people). It actually has a higher height setting than my powertower. I must say it puts my powertower to shame in stability and quality. I still cant believe how well the pull up bar works with the bench. I have both the powerblock and Ironmaster dumbbells. With this bench added I have an awesome home gym and this bench is my favorite piece. Ironmaster makes awesome products and I advise if your looking for a bench to fit all your home gym needs look no further.This bench will do it all with the best execution of any bench or one station home gym. I absolutely love this bench and I am proud of my investment.

I knew of the Ironmaster bench from when I had researched adjustable dumbbells and had narrowed it down to the Powerblocks or the Ironmasters, but that’s a different review;) I finally narrowed it down to the Bowflex 5.1 bench and the IM Super Bench. The Bowflex had price going for it, while the SB had quality and expandability in its favour. The Bowflex has decline settings of 10 and 17 degrees while the SB has decline settings of, 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 and 85! You can do some serious ab work there. Also, since the incline settings are the same as the decline you can invert the dip bar and use the handles and do leg lifts. So enough about the comparison to the Bowflex. Here are things I like about the SB: 1) Sturdy. Rated to 1000 lbs. Feels super solid; very professional. Note: there was a tiny wobble when I first received it but once I tightened it up a bit with a socket it’s been perfect. 2) Speed. The attachments come on and off super quick–10 seconds–and the seat in about 5 seconds. 3) Expandability. Even with just the situp attachment and the dip bar I can get a decent workout. I’ll probably get the chin up bar next, and eventually the leg-curl and the hyper-core attachment, oh, and the spotting attachment looks pretty cool, as well. As you can see, this thing is not just a bench but has the potential to be a kick-butt workout station all on its own. I also like the fact it came almost pre-assembled. Not a big deal but nice. Of course, the thing is wrapped up so well it took me awhile to unwrap it! Overall, I am so happy I chose this over the Bowflex. While the SB costs more, it’s of such high quality that once you get to use it you will never be sorry that you paid more for it.

This bench is very solidly assembled and should last me for years. An incredible bargain. It comes fully assembled except for the feet. I received the item within 24 hours of placing my order. However, the bench does not decline despite what the add says. You have to purchase the crunch attachment so that you can use the bench as a slant board. This is very irritating as the decline was one of the motivating factors for my deciding to purchase this particular bench. I was going to buy the attachment anyway, but now I have no choice.

This review is for ppl like me who have no choice but to work out at home because A)You’re home watching the kids so it’s better than just sitting on your … B)You either don’t want to pay for a gym or don’t even want to COMMUTE to a gym given the time commitment and petrol prices. C) You need to get in shape because your kids demand that you carry them on your shoulders etc. The Bench is very heavy duty compared to my previous bench. Twice the padding at least so it’s comfortable. Easy to assemble without instructions. Even though I was skeptical and lowered my expectations I was surprised at how stable the pull up bar attachment was. Of course it is for pull ups but great for stretching. I found it more stable then doing say the situp at a vertical angle. In fact I had trouble getting myself “up there” to get into position for the crunches and I am 6ft. I was more afraid of this tipping over during the mount because of the uneven weight distribution. Once you’re on it with both legs secure then there is no stability issue. Also once you’re done doing your crunches but before dismounting you will get an inversion table effect in the rest position. The removable seat should lock into place if you ask me but the likelyhood of you moving your entire body horizontally to slip the seat out by accident is slim and no one would do that on purpose. I think the reasoning was being able to switch the bench positions/angles for other exercises and not make it too time consuming. Now the cons: the seat is rather high of the floor. If you have young kids like me you need to think about safety – basically I had to move this bench to an area where they have no access as my 2 yr old already tried to go through the half circle. I wish the cross bars on the base were wider so I can be more confident with the crunches and pull ups. Overall you will be happy with this bench and attachments.

I looked long and hard for the ‘perfect’ bench before I came across the iron master Super Bench from Valley Fitness. I have had my Iron Master Super Bench for 6 months and have been using it 5 times a week it is VERY versatile, easily as stable as one you would get in a fitness club, I would actually say MORE STURDY than at my old gym. It can go lots of degrees of incline (including 30d and 45d) and can also go decline or of course up right. It is also very fast and easy to adjust it. This is the BEST PACKAGED stuff I have ever ordered online. I had cause to contact Valley fitness for one minor faulty part and their service was frankly fantastic, honestly their service is 2nd to none! If you are considering this or one of the competitor benches (such as the power blocks sport bench) then this Iron Master Super Bench wins hands down on so many factors including shear range of attachments, and massive number of angles you can use it at as well as how sturdy it is!

I bought the bench and dumbbells in April 2012 after getting sick of my local gym. The bench is fantastic, really well made and amazing robust. I was worried that it may not be of the highest quality but everything about the bench is great. The padding is thick, the leather is of a high quality and well stitched, the movement is smooth and easy. The various angles are great for different workouts; I also bought the crunch attachment and dip bar which are great additions. Overall this is a great bench and well worth the money.

Trained in gyms for twenty plus years and was worried about making the switch to training home in my garage as most home gym equipment seems flimsy. Not this bench though, absolutely fantastic! Totally solid in every position even with my 17 stone plus barbell, weights etc. In terms of adjustability, rigidity and build quality I would say its the best adjustable bench I have ever used. Well worth the money.

20 inc height from the ground worked out perfect didn’t have to stretch on tip toes when flat on the bench. Basically i love this bench no gaps between seat and back rest , no bending down to adjust angles just step on lever and adjust. .Didn’t feel to low to the ground when bench was 180 degress for press movements. The build quality on the super bench is also fantastic really good solid feel to it as well it looks great. I have went thru a lot of benches in my time the ironmaster super bench i got yesterday and is my favourite without question. The icing on the cake was dealing with James at valley fitness, excellent service and speedy delivery def one of the best companies i’ve dealt with. Bottom line if u are looking for a quality bench the ironmaster super bench is that bench and valley fitness is the place to buy it from , Extremely Happy Customer here.

I’m using the Ironmaster Superbench for more than a month now. I’m glad I can say that it fits me perfectly. I can do a great variaty of exercises to train all the musclegroups. The tree attachements (dip, chin and crunch) that I bought along are easy and fun to use. I rather work with my own weight than to use an all-in-one machine with different possiblility because of the restrictions on that. Recently is added up some exercises to my schedule with elastic bands around the attachments. For example, using the crunch attachement with bands around on a flat bench give me the possibility to do a back exercise. My main goal isn’t bulking and getting huge muscles. I rather go for strength and getting in good shape. Something I can really use in my new hobby I started a few months ago, Tae Kwon Do. There was one thing I had difficulty with and that was bench pressing. I couldn’t press heavy weights because I had no rack. This weekend I bought a secondhand pressbench with rack. The guy also sold me all of his weights, dumbbells, bars and rack to place them. So I made a good deal! Now I have a semi-professional home fitness in my attic. Thanks again for the bringing the Ironmaster series to Europe.

What can i say, where do I start. I deliberated for a while about spending as much on a bench, but all the reviews I was reading were so compelling I just thought, ‘why not?’ I do not regret it! This has to be the best bench you can buy, bar none! As solid, if not more solid, than any commercial bench I have used. Adjusting it between all its different angles is extremely easy. The service from James at Valley Fitness was first rate too. He kept me up to date with the delivery and they also accomodated my work schedule to ensure the bench didnt arrive at a time when i wasnt around to accept delivery. I will be purchashing the preacher curl attachment at some point but the next main purchase for me will be the quicklock dumbells. if they are half as good quality as the SuperBench then they will be awesome.

They really treat you like you’re their number one customer and try to accommodate your every need. I will definitely be trying to complete my Ironmaster set, so to speak.

Awesome – just awesome! Great Christmas present from the wife as we’d just cancelled our gym memberships to save a few pennies. This bench is going to help in my 2012 mission to reach the fittest condition I have ever been in by July. It’s solid, comfy and so well engineered. I bought the bench at the start of the year and it has only been the last few months the bench has been used.. Saying that I am very pleased I spent my money on the bench and attachments rather than spending £50/month on gym fees. The bench is very sturdy and comfortable. The attachments such as the dip bar, chin up bar, sit up/decline leg supports are also very well made and comfortable to use. My only grimes (and they are very minimal) is the height of the bench, and at times whilst conducting decline dumbell press the bench can shake some what – but it works out the stabilisers… I have worked in gyms and been in the gym environment for 10 years plus now and after weeks, if not months of research and trying out other brands, searching the net for reviews and youtube posts I can say that I am very pleased with the product and would recommend it to everyone!

The bench is very sturdy. It is well made and comfortable. Easy to adjust as well, in fact it is far better than any other gym bench I have used. The seat is great too as it is angled so you don’t slip off when on an incline! Someone has really thought about the functionality and detail of this kit and it really does show. OK, it is not cheap but I believe it is worth every penny as I am going to get YEARS of decent weight training out of it!

Top quality bench that is very versatile. Well padded, very stable, no creaking or lateral wobble associated with poor quality cheap benches. Lots of quality add-ons available. Degree of incline easily and quickly adjustable. Would also like to add I received a very good customer service from Valley Fitness and recommend it to anyone interested in building a quality home gym.

Overall a great bench but could be better, some minor improvements could turn this into a perfect bench. Im 5’7″ and cannot reach floor whilst benching so need blocks. The attachable seat flexes a touch. Although the seat is adequate it would be great if they had options, it only slides in so Im sure they could make alternatives. when angled a saddle type seat would prevent thighs from digging in. When upright and doing heavy presses a larger seat would be more comfortable. Great bench, just some small niggles

I am a personal trainer and am delighted to finally see a decent solution to home training in your Super bench. I am often asked about equipment for clients that don’t want to spend thousands on kitting out a home gym but want something superior to the crap you can buy in Argos and the like. I love the simplicity of the Super bench and also the fact that there is the possibility of doing pull-ups with the attachment, as you may be aware your back is quite hard to train without heavy dumbbells for the majority of strong males and so the ability to do pull ups will hugely bolster a home programme.

The Super Bench assembles quickly and easily. The bench is well padded, comfortable, sturdy and easily adjustable to any of it’s 11 angles, which all feel nice and safe. It is compact and may seem a bit narrow to some but I’m 6’2″ and 19 Stone and have no problems using it at all. The service I received from Valley Fitness was fantastic. You communicated well, delivered on time and I will definitely be looking to you for the rest of the add-on’s for the Super Bench later in the year. Time to find some more exercises with this kit there’s so many choices and options…

For several weeks I researched home benches and the more I looked the more it became clear the Superbench ticked all the boxes. A very high weight capacity, extremely positive reviews and has all the optional extras making it one of the most versatile home benches money can buy. I discussed the bench in great detail with a chap at Ironmaster in the US and he sent me the details of valleyfitness.co.uk, the UK distributor. A week or so later I finally received the extremely well packaged bench along with the leg curl attachment. They were both of a reassuringly high quality and having used both several times now I’m sure I made the right decision. Best multifunction bench on the market. As sturdy and probably sturdier than most benches in a commercial gym. With accessories, this thing can do a lot. Even without, however, it’s great. I particularly like that it can go fully vertical. If you have the attachment to hold your legs in place, this then doubles as an inversion table, which is great.
It’s a little taller than the average bench due to the mechanism that lets it fully rotate, but overall I’m okay with that. I’m taller and enjoy the extra height for most things, it just took some getting used to when benching.

My Ironmaster Super Bench has been going strong now for 6 years and will handle with ease anything that you can throw at it. The weight load capacities are obviously great as this bench permits the trainer to bench/shoudler press some serious weight. The foot activated lever (a nice touch), enables quick and easy changes of the bench angle (11 angles – however note that the Crunch attachment is required for decline exercises). The bench is very stirdy without any wobbles or movement. The seat is removable. It simply slides in 90 degrees to the back rest inside one of three slots. In 6 years, I’ve never felt the back rest or seat to be uncomfortable. I have placed the wheel kit on one side of my bench for added convenience on those days post workout where I’m truly spent. Best of all are the impressive list of optional attachments available for this bench (inserted with a heavy duty, thick pin). The bench plus the wide variety of attachments really offers a massive variety of exercises that will keep you mentally fresh when training for years to come.

Excellent bench, very heavy duty, long lasting and stable during heavy workouts. With the attachments (that are excellent) this is a perfect equipment for a space saver gym. The only negative that I have with this gym is the seat angle, it is always at a 90 degree angle to the bench. There is no way to adjust this angle, which means for heavy incline dumbells it can be difficult getting into a perfect position. If they made the seat angle adjustable by using a hexagonal instead of square column this would be perfect. I still use the bench all the time for incline barbell press, it is only an issue if I need to stand and sit back into the seat with heavy dumbells. Otherwise highly recommended bench and extremely versatile. I have owned it 5+ years and it is still in perfect condition.

Very happy with this purchase! I researched for months for a bench that would give me the functionality I desire in a small footprint, and this bench nails it. Got it with the dip bar, sit up, preacher curl, leg attachment, and wheel kit. It’s super solid and what little assembly there was, was a breeze. I can easily move it out of the corner and adjust it for all my exercises. It works perfectly with my existing weights and elastic bands. And it looks great! Highly recommended

Customer service from Ironmaster was simply outstanding, particularly with all that’s happening in 2020. I ordered the Super Bench and leg attachment on Tuesday 30th July, expecting it to be dispatched late July, but it actually arrived just over 2 days later! Very easy to assemble – the bench took longer to unpackage than it did to bolt and screw together.

I chose the super bench over the super bench pro because of the added height and compact form. I’m 5’10, 200lbs and wanted a versatile bench I could store at the base of my bed, while being light enough to move around. Quality is rock solid, like a bench you would find at a gym! The bench is a workhorse allowing me to do a ton of different exercises and stretches. The extra height feels like a luxury when doing pullovers, lying dumbbell rows, step-ups, rear shoulder flys or even just dumbbell shoulder press as this seat can go a lil higher up than the super bench pro.
I bought 2 accessories, the ‘crunch sit-up attachment’ and the ‘dip handles’. Both are solid and work great, although I think the super bench pro might have an improved way to connect attachments to the bench.
Love how easy it is to just raise and lower the bench with my foot on the lever. One day I might get the hybrid pad as it could help with decline exercises and flat benchpress, but I’m really enjoying how comfortable the default pad is, no pressure points, feels nice to just sit on too, lol.

I love this bench. Getting the wheels is a must though. It makes it so much easier to move around. I have purchased 2 benches since 2007 and the newest one July 2020. No other companies make such a versatile bench with so many attachments. My only gripe would be the bench height for my short wife. She is 5 feet tall and I use the calf block to put her feet on it and then the bench is fine. It isn’t advertised by Ironmaster but the Superbench works great with bands while doing the Hyperextension with the HyperCore attachment. This is such an important part of your home gym. If you choose this bench, You might fall in love and get everything else like I did.

I did a lot of research before buying the super bench. I was almost put off by comments regarding its height in the flat position for bench pressing. It is a little high, but this is easily fixed by putting either a couple of weight plates or calf block in front of the bench to plant your feet. For everything else the bench is absolutely perfect and a very high quality piece of equipment. Don’t be put off by it’s height, I’ve also seen reviews where users have just put a couple of yoga blocks at the front of the bench, these can be picked up for around £10.

The bench is very sturdy. It looks really sleek and modern. The pivotal design and functionality is not something I was expecting, it’s just so well made. Really quality engineering and design. This bench is higher than the pro version but I find it just right for bench pressing, I’m 5ft9. The legs fit just inside a standard bar with weights on when pushed up against the wall which makes it great for looking tidy and saving space.

I thought people might want to see a long term review of the super bench. I’ve had mine for over 2 years now. I also got the leg extension, dip bar, pull up bar, and leg attachment for sit ups. Everything works perfectly and I use all the attachments regularly. Durability has been great, the only minor gripe is the rubber feet slip of when I move the bench around, if I remembered to do it, I could always glue the feet on but I always forget. All in all highly recommended, great quality, and space saving. I love it.

Picked up the attachments (for Superbench) on Friday, all assembled and tested.
Found the Preacher a little low but rectified this by inclining the bench a notch or two.
The Dip attachment is good but reminded me of just how hard the bloody things are and why most people avoid them. I love how this can be used for leg raises as well.
This with the crunch attachment motivates me to do ab work. The Crunch attachment feels surprisingly secure even on a steep incline.
