Exercises to try with your IM2000 Leg Press Plate

Leg Press

Work your quads by performing a leg press. Position the Super Bench under the Leg Press Plate in the flat or slight decline position. When you are ready, the bar should be directly above your hips and the safety stops set so your legs are in a 90 degree position. From the start position, drive the plate upwards until your legs are close to full extension then slowly return to the starting position. Vary your feet position and width to target slightly different parts of your quads and hamstrings.

Standing Calf Raise

Get into a standing position with the lifting bar across your shoulders. The balls of your feet should be on a calf block with your heels extending off the edge.  Raise your heels by flexing your calves and standing up on your toes. Your knees should be kept in position throughout. Return to the starting position slowly and repeat.

Seated Calf Raise

Sit on the flat Super Bench with the IM2000 lifting bar about 10 cm above your knees. Position your feet on a calf block as per the standing calf raise and raise up on your toes as high as possible, squeezing your calf muscles. Slowly return to the starting position and repeat.

Calf Extensions

Lay on the flat Super Bench with the IM2000 lifting bar in line with your hips. With your legs fully extended, position the balls of your feet on the Leg Press Plate. Push upward with your toes as high as possible, squeezing your calf muscles. Slowly return to the starting position and repeat.

Donkey Calf Raise

The IM2000 allows you to do this effective (and often overlooked) calf exercise. You can either perform it bent over with the padded bar across your lower back, or with a training partner sitting on your lower back. Complete the donkey calf raise movement as per the standing calf raise, returning to the starting position and repeating.
