IronmasterUK crunch attachment

Direct ab work will build muscle, strengthen your core, and help shape your torso. So why is ab work often an afterthought? If lack of ab equipment is holding you back, the Crunch Attachment for the Ironmaster Super Bench is the perfect addition to your home gym.

The Ironmaster Crunch Attachment is a must have for your home gym as you can work your core AND it’s perfect for decline bench work. Whether you are new to training, or have been training in gyms for decades, you’ll soon spot the quality of our materials and craftsmanship. Like all Ironmaster products, this is one bit of gym kit you’ll own forever.

“Solid, like all Ironmaster products. Pretty much mandatory for the Super Bench as you will use this attachment for not only abs, but decline presses, flyes, etc.” – Wayne C.

Why choose this Decline / Crunch Attachment?

If you want to add more variety to your training, the Ironmaster FID (flat, incline, decline) Super Bench lets you take full advantage of the crunch attachment by allowing multiple angles for ab and decline presses.

IronmasterUK Crunch attachment demo

Flexible positions

Lots of FID benches come with crunch attachments, but none are as adjustable as ours when teamed with the Super Bench. Not only does the attachment quickly fix to the Super Bench spine in various positions, you can adjust the angle of the bench from tame (just past level) to nearly vertical.

Ergonomic leg position

You need to get your set up spot on before you do your first rep. Our ergonomic leg position locks you securely in place with a slightly elevated knee position, so it’s easy on your lower back. This makes things more comfortable and improves your entire session.

Roller pads feel “just right”

There’s nothing more annoying than roller pads that are too solid or riddled with ridges. The best pads are durable, but mould to your body over time so you feel at one with your kit. The addition of our Vinyl Roller Covers makes everything wipe clean – useful if you’re not the only one who uses your home gym.

Buy it once, buy it right

The quality of our design, durability and build means you will never have to purchase a crunch attachment again. This isn’t some cheap crunch attachment for a home bench. This is exactly what you need to do effective ab training in your home gym. With this single piece of equipment you can do a range of exercises in your home gym to challenge both your core and chest, all for a bargain price.

“Great Attachment. Does exactly what is suppose to. Very stable and you can do tons of different angles to change the difficulty.” – KMC

Exercises using the Crunch Attachment

IronmasterUK Abdominals

Crunch

Target your abdominals from multiple angles. Adjust the angle of the Super Bench to your required difficulty, hold on to the single handle, and mount the Super Bench. Lay flat on the bench with your hands either behind your head, across your chest, or holding a weight plate.  Push the small of your back down and roll your shoulders off the bench to isolate your abs.
Return to the original position and repeat.

IronmasterUK Abdominals

Reverse Ab Crunch

Angle the Super Bench as required, lay back on the bench with your arms above your head holding onto the roller pads. Bring your knees towards your torso and lift your hips off the bench. In a controlled manner return to the starting position and repeat.

IronmasterUK Chest

Decline Barbell Press

Train your pecs by setting the Super Bench to the desired angle. Use the single handle to get into position.  Use a medium width grip that forms a 90 degree angle between the upper arms and the forearms when the barbell is at your chest. Un-rack the bar and hold it directly over you with straight arms. Lower the bar slowly until it touches your lower chest then press the bar back up, focusing on your chest and contracting your pecs. When your set is completed, re-rack the bar.

IronmasterUK Chest

Decline Dumbbell Press

Train your chest by doing the above exercise, but with dumbbells.  Be careful not to drop the dumbbells by your side when you finish your set, as this can hurt your shoulders. The Ironmaster Dumbbell Spotting Stand is perfect for helping you start and finish this exercise.

IronmasterUK Chest

Decline Dumbbell Fly

Work your chest from a different angle by doing dumbbell flys. Get into position as above, holding dumbbells with your palms facing each other when your arms are fully extended. Slightly bend your elbows and lower your arms to the sides in a wide arc until you feel a stretch in your chest. This movement should be from the shoulder, not the arms. Squeeze the chest to return your arms to the starting position, keeping a slight bend in your arms.

“I have the Super Bench with a few other attachments and the crunch sit up/decline is my favourite! It is extremely sturdy and easily attaches to the bench with its slide and lock operation. I use this attachment for crunches, decline presses, stretching, and leg raises.” – R Brooks

This is more than just a high-quality Crunch Attachment for your home gym. This is the opportunity to add exercises to your routine, and push yourself to the limit knowing your equipment can keep up. We know that you want to push on with your strength journey. We’ll be with you every step of the way.

Crunch Attachment

  1. Great add on piece for super bench. Does the job, it’s put together very well. Just kind of on the expensive side.

  2. My favorite attachment I have the Ironmaster Superbench and several attachments. My favorite attachment is the crunch situp/decline. It is perfect for crunches, leg raises and for just hanging on the bench to stretch. It, along with the super bench, is very, very sturdy. It easily and snugly attaches to the bench. Just slide it in, and lock it into place within seconds. I feel the attachment and bench are near-commercial quality that should give me decades of use.

  3. Worth the few extra bucks. One improvement that I could suggest is that the locking holes be drill on both sides, this would allow flipping the attachment upside down thus giving more flexibility to sit-up variations. I find the attachment works well for me, a male. 6’3″ 190 lbs.

  4. crunch time I love the ironmaster bench setup, it is solid quality. The crunch attachment is solid, and easy to add/remove. I use it every for incline bench/situps, it’s expensive but if you like solid, well designed equipment, just like the bench this attachment will satisfy.

  5. Pretty decent attachment This is the most useful of the attachments for the Super Bench. Not recommended for hanging leg raises, but does well for situps and decline presses, flys, etc.

  6. Five Stars Amazing!!!!! The entire Iron Master bench and attachments are simply worth every dollar you pay.

  7. Sturdy, just as the bench is! This attachment is my 1st purchase for the super bench. It goes on and off very easily. It feels very secure, i really enjoy using it. Love the bench as well. Great products even for commercial use.

  8. Great Addition to your Workout Gear Works just as it is described. Has great quality construction. I love not having to do my situps on the ground.

  9. Great decline attachment If you have the ironmaster bench, this is the one attachment I would definitely get for it, as it allows you to do all of your decline/crunch exercises. It’s well built and solid. Go for it.

  10. Buy this if you buy the Ironmaster bench! I love this attachment and speak about it in my original review on the Ironmaster bench (where I mentioned this attachment.) It is well worth the purchase, and I would not be as happy w/ my bench without it. Depending on the angle of the bench when you use the attachment, there is a very slight wiggle to it but not enough to make me worry about it or not love it. Furthermore, the padding is very comfortable on my shins as it holds me in.Furthermore, it is easy to attach and detach. I love this equipment and recommend it highly…keeping in mind, I work out 6-7 days a week often 2x daily. I go to a local gym but also have a home gym and this bench and attachment is quality equipment at a reasonable price.

  11. Solid well made attachment for your superbench I bought this attachment for my superbench and love it. This attachment easily attaches to your Ironmaster Super Bench and is very adjustable to fit your body size. The attachment has a chrome finish with dense neoprene padding and a beneficial handle. This attachment like all Iron master products is solid, well built and will last forever.

  12. Works as advertised The crunch sit up attachment works well, it attaches quickly and easily. The bench with the attachment is still very stable no matter what position.

  13. Ironmaster Crunch/Decline Attachment I love the Ironmaster Super Bench, and I love it even more with this attachment. I got this mainly so I could do decline bench presses. I used to do my ab workouts on the floor. Now that I have this bench, I use the bench with this attachment. It’s a bit awkward at first going from the floor to a bench, but it really gives you a great workout. I was challenged by the stuff I can do with ease on the floor. I love this bench and attachment. If you have an Ironmaster super bench, then you need this attachment. It’s solid, nice looking, fits well, is comfortable, and seems pretty durable so far – I’ve only had it for about a month and use it 5 days a week. If you want to do declines, you need it. It’s definitely worth it since you can use it for it’s main function also (abs).

  14. Great attachment Does exactly what is suppose to, but this attachment and the ironmaster bench are very good items. Very stable and you can do tons of different angles to change the difficulty.

  15. Vertical Abs This attachment is bomb! With the Ironmaster Super Bench! You can be almost 90 degree angle to do ninja crunches! Amazing for a bench. One piece of advice though if you do try to do an almost completely vertical crunch make sure to stabilize the bench with some heavy weights on the foot of the bench at the legs side of the bench as it’s not designed to do almost vertical although it’s doable without weights to stabilize it you will just need to go slow so that it doesn’t lift up. Any other angle besides that it’s very stable without anything holding it down and I’m very happy with it. You can also purchase the leather like covers for the foam at the Ironmaster website for added protection for you and your investment. Get your six pack on! Yeah buddy!

  17. Excellent Crunch Sit Up Attachment It is a fine and adjustable crunch sit up accessory for the Super Bench.

  18. Typical IronMaster: expensive, but worth it! Solid, like all IronMaster products. Pretty much mandatory for the Superbench as you will use this attachment for not only abs, but decline presses, flyes, etc. On and off in about ten seconds, and very firm when in place due to double securing: a spring pin, and a screw knob. Note: IronMaster items are on the Ironmaster web page, and there is a set of vinyl covers for the pads (about $13 for the set) that may be helpful; although the sponge pads are dense and strong, running legs over them will wear them out. I got the pad covers, too. Must check the Ironmaster site as these are shipped and sold by IM regardless of where you purchase. Cheers!

  19. Well Built. Solid lock up and quality feel of anything you’d find in a nice commercial gym piece. I’m very pleased with it and highly recommend it.

  20. Built well, useful I got this as part of a package deal via Ironmaster, and it’s been surprisingly useful. I use it for decline chest flyes & to hold my legs as I do lower back raises.

  24. Great attachment As with other Ironmaster stuff it’s easily on par with commercial gear. Solid and heavy. I bought this more to do decline bench and flys then ab work outs and I’ve had no issues with it any way I’ve used it. Fits solidly onto the ironmaster bench with no wobble.

  25. Simple, functional, and well made. I purchased this as part of the package deal with my first super bench (now have 2 more of those).

I use it for a number of exercises, and find it very comfortable and versatile. Secures well too.

    Very useful accessory.

  33. This was the first attachment i bought and i think it was a good call. Having decline press @ home was one ofthe main reasons I bought the ironmaster and this attachment works well. I’m 6’2 and it holds me well even when inserted to the first hole. the vertical bar in the middle is clutch for getting on and off the thing without contorting yourself. Haven’t done much ab work on it yet, but for decline bench press its great

  41. This was included in the combo package. Awesome – just awesome! Great Christmas present from the wife as we’d just cancelled our gym memberships to save a few pennies. This bench is going to help in my 2012 mission to reach the fittest condition I have ever been in by July. It’s solid, comfy and so well engineered. Looking forward to adding a few more attachments when my birthday comes around in Feb. Buy one… you won’t regret it!

  42. Another great Ironmaster attachment: attaches to the bench in seconds and is solid as a rock. Allows you to perfom sit-ups at various angles and it never feels like you are going to slip off the bench. A must have.

  43. I use the crunch attachment loads for steep decline chest presses and almost vertical crunches. I’m over 6ft and my training partner is a lot shorter – so having the attachment easily adjustable helps!

  44. It is a great ab attachment. Solid as a rock.

  45. The Crunch attachment adds to the stability when doing any decline presses or abs. You feel super secure and don’t feel like you are slipping. I also like the part that sticks out as it makes it easier to get in and out of the bench when set at higher angles. If you are going to do the most extreme angle for crunches, I would have a partner stand on the legs to make sure you don’t tip over. Most people won’t try the steepest angle like I have but I want to make sure you stay safe. This helps especially well with my clients when we do medicine ball tosses during the crunches or just holding you in well when holding a small weight plate in the air when doing weight resisted decline crunches.

  46. Well worth the time spent waiting for it to become available. Easy to assemble, very comfortable and makes one hell of a workout assistant.

  47. Apart from all of the uses in the other reviews I also use this attachment with the bench in flat position to hold legs down for lat pull downs and it does a good job for this too. This is a quality attachment, worth every penny. For sit ups and decline bench press it is perfect.

  48. Perfect attachment. Have used it for sit-up’s, leg lifts and no issues at all. Sturdy…does not bounce around.

  49. Must have
I put must have because if you own the super bench and you want to do decline bench presses you have to have this attachment. I don’t say that in a negative way because it’s great when doing decline presses with the Dumbbells. It also is great for abs and your obliques when you want to get an extreme decline position to really workout them abs. I love all the Ironmaster equipment and I will most of it.

  50. You already know!
You already know what this is used for and how beneficial it is to any bench. It is light but sturdy and will angle you perfectly for decline exercises.

  52. Solid Attachment
Great attachment, works perfectly for sit ups / crunches. If I could recommend just one attachment, this is the one.

  53. Works for inversion
I bought the attachment in the hopes I could turn my bench into a pseudo-inversion table, and I’m pleased to say it works great! I can comfortably get in and out of a near vertical decline position (haven’t tried full vertical yet). But even a less steep angle gets a great stretch. I’m 5’6″ and I use the attachment on one of the middle settings and my head and shoulders are off the ground. For those 6′ and taller, it may not work as well (even on the most elongated setting).

  54. Crunch/ sit up
Very stable and comfortable. Great for leg raises, sit ups, decompression, declines etc.

  55. Crunch and Inversion
Another clever accessory for this super bench pro. Super for inverting and doing some angled crunches. I am pleased.

  56. Great product
This attachment is very sturdy and has lots of adjustments. It is a necessary attachment if any type of decline work is desired. I’ve been using it as an inversion table and it has worked great. The foam rollers really need to have covers on them like the leg attachment has. I know they are available (when in stock) but they should be included.

  57. Build good and strong. Easy to attach. Great workout for abs.

  58. Great for ab work
The attachment feels nice and sturdy when attached. It has several adjustments to find your comfort level. The padding is very nice, and the build quality is excellent. I have used it for abs and during decline bench, and it’s rock solid!

    5 out of 5
  59. Pretty much essential if you already have the super bench given that it opens up the possibility to do decline and abs. Really handy attachment
