🇮🇪 Shipping to Ireland – What to Expect with VAT & Customs Charges
We’re delighted to ship to our customers in Ireland! We’ve sent 100s of orders to Ireland since 2008, and although Brexit has added some seriously frustrating hurdles, we’re doing everything we can to continue supporting you. Here’s what you need to know:
đźšš Shipping
We heavily subsidise shipping costs to Ireland to help keep them as low as possible for our customers. Unfortunately, the overall shipping process is more complex (and expensive) than it used to be, but we’re committed to making it as smooth and affordable as we can.
đź’¶ VAT
Because we’re shipping from the UK, we don’t charge UK VAT (20%) at checkout. Instead, you’ll pay Irish VAT (currently 23%) when your order arrives in Ireland. This is the same VAT rate you’d normally pay on purchases within the Republic of Ireland.
📦 Import Duty
Irish Customs typically applies an import duty of 2.7% on fitness equipment, including the products we sell. This is calculated on the value of your order and is charged along with VAT when your order enters Ireland.
đź’¸ Processing Fees
This is where it gets a bit messy! We’ve had hundreds of conversations with different couriers, and unfortunately, it really is the Wild West when it comes to these fees. They seem to make them up as they go along, ranging from £20 to £35, though thankfully, they’re usually at the lower end. We know this is frustrating. Trust us, we feel the same way – but these charges are outside of our control.
